How bad is it to go to work while floating on a cloud?

My "episodes" (such a lady like word for my so called seizures) have amped it up since decreasing my Keppra I have been embracing ativan and clonazepam. DOn't worry. Not at the same time.

Episodes still happen, just not with the same intensity.

Plus, as you all know, they make you a bit loopy.

Yet I have to go to work.

I feel like I'm going to put on my game face but that everyone will see through it.

You know, like the drunk person who enunciates everything and gets all serious while holding on to the table or chair to remain upright while insisting they are just fine.

Does anyone do this for those who do work under the public eye? Or will this misfire and blow up in my face? We'll see. Fortunately I was always considered quirky before I had seizures so I have that in my favour! I just hope I don't burst out into song...maybe just quiet humming will do.

Well I’m glad the switch in meds seems to be working. Did they give you a monthly prescription for ativan. My doc said it can quickly loss its effectiveness, but that’s just one man’s opinion.

Advice for being loopy at work would be.... hmmm..... say as little as possible. Smile, but not too much or it will freak people out (same goes for enthusiasm). Use discretion while holding fixed objects for balance. And truthfully, unless it’s really bad, no one will notice if you don’t think about it. Just pretend you’re having a super stress free day.

People thinking you're quirky is a big plus! It works in my life!! People don't question nearly as much as they should

Be careful for sure, imho. They had me on ativan while on the tegretol. It made me feel "good." I was waltzing around like I didn't have E. I ended up having a slew of seizures and had to be resusicated. After that is when i stopped taking meds for a couple of years, scared the crap out of me.

I've always had the ativan...the clonazepam trial is new! But I hate to say the switch is not exactly working but lessening the strength of the seizure is good, making me sleepy bad.
But good advice P-Funk for surviving the working day! Smiling too much is freaky for anyone!
But I have enjoyed my quirky status. I've always been told I'm nice but quirky. So the two together are golden! But I'm sure there are those who I rub the wrong way nonetheless. But I don't hate! Just love baby.
I think today will be interesting. As long as I don't get into giggle fits. Weakness of mine from time to time. Thankfully laughter is infectious even when it is not understood and when indulged in at an appropriate time!

Thanks for the warning too ELi. I'm sorry that had to happen to you. So you were med free? Wow. How did that work for you?
WHat's funny is if I did have a tonic clonic....I would be almost relieved. Those are at least pretty recognizable. Although I sure wouldn't want to be resucitated. I know what it feels like to be intubated and midazolammed up in icu and that wasn't so fun.

Meds free was tolerable til I had a sleep walking nocturnal t/c in the kitchen. My husband happened to be in town and found me on the floor bleeding bad. i hit the corner of the microwave and slide my face down the cabinet to the floor.

I really hate when you wake up in the hospital with a catheter in. I've yanked them out and then they strap me down! Apparently i'm a riot/handful in the hospital after a major seizure.

And yes I have scars! It scares me to realize I get up and walk around during seizures.

I'm about to come off of clonazepam - been on them since Septempber (along with tegretol since may). GP and psychiatrist say Clonazepam is addictive, loses it strength through time, and makes me very tired all of the time (then why did the neurologist put me on them in the first instance?) Clonazepam is also good for anxiety. They have decreased my episodes - down to a couple a month. I am off work at the moment because of this and mental health/heart issues.

I'm reasonably 'happy' on clonazepam but shortly they are going to reduce this meds and put me on pregalain and then take me off of the clonazepam. I'm worried about increased episodes whilst the change is taking place - I also worry about if pregalian will be suitable for me - they too, are used for anxiety as well as seizures.
