| According to Drugs.com you should be careful of before using xanax Quote :
Also, I moved your post from the foyer to the kitchen since you no longer need to introduce yourself.

Uhhhhh....if this is an anti-depressant drug think twice about using it! There are many cases of "anti" depressant drugs having the exact opposite effect as they claim they are for -and have actually caused some people to take their own lives! (Yet 1 more thing "they" don't want you to know about!) 1 of the best anti-depressent herbs is St. John's Wort. It has to be used with care, so I'd suggest getting ahold of someone who has practice with it.

I don't have experience with it yet. My doc just prescribed it for use on the really bad days, not every day. I told hiim I was worried about becoming depedant on it, and he said to use it a max of twice a week. We'll see if that keeps my body from wanting it. As for the side effects. I'll try it and see what happens

k thanks. Yeah my neurologist temporarily gave me lexapro until i could get into to see someone because i was supposed to have my appointment this week but it got pushed back. but i told her i needed something sooner. she said lexapro didn't work as good as medications used solely for anxiety but that it should help for the time being

Withdrawal from Xanax is what caused my epilepsy. I was 70 (two years ago) when I had my first seizure, which I understand is very unusual. I had been taking xanax to sleep for several years when I decided to get off it, not realizing how difficult that is. I had many other problems during withdrawal that have passed, but not the seizures, although they are controlled by lamictal. I have found that often doctors, and the medical community in general, are reluctant to accept the fact that side effects of pharmaceuticals can be pretty awful.

wow im so sorry to hear that. but don't you think someone who is 70 is more likely to seize from withdrawl effects of a pharmaceutical than someone like me, who is in their 20s? plus i'm already on three seizure meds

Also, don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but you can go on www.askapatient.com and see how other people have reacted to it.
