Ive had epilepsy my whole life, and from the words of my mom, teachers, even total strangers, my handwriting is beautiful! My mom saved handwriting papers from my first and second grades, when they were teaching us cursive. She has shown them to people at her work and they cant beleive that a 6/7 year old girl could do such beautiful handwriting! Ive always had good handwriting, but having epilepsy, for me.... hasnt done any harm to my handwriting at all. I have left temporal lobe epilepsy. I will have to ask my mom for the papers she saved and see if I can somehow post them here for you to see. To this day, I cant believe that being that young, it looks like a grown up did it, taking their time.

My son had beautiful hand writing. He is 13. But the depakote he has has made it a hassle to even write sentances. It's all on how focussed he wants to be. If its on the computer he has it done in no time.

I am left-handed, when I was taught how to write cursive the teachers tried to make me write right-handed.

My handwriting is getting better. Teachers should teach left-handed people how to write left-handed.

momof3boys, people with epliepsy have special creative talents. You are one of them.

Stilldancing_98, it is sad that people learn on the computer and not regular writing cursive. I am sorry that your son has trouble with with his writing now. Can you talk to his neurologist about changing meds. Then your son can get his beautiful hand writing back. I encourage you to have him practice handwriting everyday.

my mom told me that too. I grew up always wanting to do creative stuff. I turned out to always want my things very organized, and I loved doing crafts and special projects growing up. I loved caligraphy, (Thats probably not how you spell it...LOL) But I just liked doing that kind of stuff. I love typing on the computer, etc.
