I'd never

gotten the flu shot until this year--just to see if it made any difference, out of curiosity.

Oddly enough, I've been doing quite well. However, I can't directly attribute that to just the flu shot though. I've changed a few other things in my life, so I'm not sure....

I think the best preventative for the flu is simple hygiene.
While many years ago, it killed a lot of people, more people these days are capable of hand washing, and staying at home when sick. The ones that get really sick are the ones that don't wash up.
I will not get the flu shot.
All my other vaccinations are up to date.

Check this out--A runner got the flu shot one year and now has serious dystonia and epilepsy
That woman was found to be faking it.

I had the flu shot this year. I am glad I did. I live in a small town. Everyone goes to Walmart to shop. They go even if they have the flu. I stay home when I have something contagious. That is one way to prevent getting the flu.

I don't think I ever got a flu shot in my life. And I might have had flu once or twice when I was a child but now I only get minor colds sometimes . Even if everyone in my environment is down with the flu, I almost never get it.

Wink flu shot?

My Neurologuogist Dr. Dewaun in Orlando actually told me NOT to get one! He said that it could comporomise my immune system and it could mess with how its affects my meds if you could believe that so no flu shot for me. Although I do work in customer service and I do wonder if it would benefit me if I got the flu mist instead that they give children? That is processed differently from what I understand. I just seem to get sick a lot and I have a lot of exposure to a lot of international tourists in the Nike store that I work in. God only knows what I get exposed to on a weekly basis. I try to take care of myself eat right, get enough sleep, take my vitamins etc.... but it never seems to be quite enough.

If you work with a lot of people, then you should get the flu shot. Wouldn't that affect your immune system if you got the flu?

Where I live, a lot of my friends do not believe in getting the flu shot. The flu went around to everyone.

My friends and I who got the flu shot did not get the flu. I also got the pneumonia shot. I had pneumonia a few years ago.

For my medicines I take Vitamin B Complex. My neurologist told me that medicines for epilepsy deplete Vitamin B. I also take Vitamin D. For my immune system, I take Echinacea. I also drink herbal teas.

Also, exercising everyday helps the immune system.

My neurologist has told me to get the flu shots. Some people die every year from the flu.

I started having seizures when I was ten because of a high fever from chicken pox. But everytime I get the flu I have grand mal seizures.

Did you get a flu shot this year?

Last night I went to my meeting and hardly anyone was there. They all had the flu. I am so glad that I got the flu shot. I did not get the flu from my friends.

I don't get the flu shot.
Not that I am anti-vax, it's just that the flu virus changes from year to year, so the vaccine is just a best guess as to which strain it is.
I have seen people get the shot, and get sick with the flu variation that wasn't part of the vaccine.

Half of my friends got the flu because they did not get the flu shot.

Even though it is a guess, you just get a mild case. Our family got a mild case of the flu. It only lasted a day.

My friends were sick for several days.

I am glad that I got the flu shot.
