Just out of curiosity, are you photosensitive?

| Just following along as my 4 1/2 year old has primarily T/C seizures and has had a couple atonic seizures. He doesn't seem to remember them afterward and for right now, they have limited his activities quite a bit(he can't ride his bike, use playground equipment, can't be in a room alone, etc.) He's only been having seizures since February 23 (although the doctor thinks he had 1 on January 19) so we are still discovering things. He hasn't had a seizure at all since March 13 at which time they upped his med dose. |

| Tina - just shedding some light on Rebecca's situation. Her's were for the most part hormonal, at least that is what my journaling told me. It didn't happen each time that way, and when she was taking meds there were more seizures, and odd/different seizures than the norm that I tracked. Nutritionally, you are correct that certain foods can trigger seizures in some. It can also cause reactive hypoglycemia, or other blood sugar imbalances. For Rebecca this was not caught until they did a glucose tolerance test on her. The typical blood sugar test came back normal. Some food sensitivities don't show up for hours, and even days. There is also a connection, though not being a chemist, it is hard for me to explain. But if you are fueling your body with foods that are being converted to sugar, the body makes insulin to counter act this. There is a connection between this and hormonal balance. When the liver is overloaded, it becomes congested Toxins are not able to be eliminated, and problems occur. If you see other minor medical issues, such as sinus problems, rashes or eczema, there can also be a nutritional component. Eliminating dairy helped Rebecca with this, and it is one of the foods we have removed. At last cow dairy. We do occasionally use goat. Experimenting and taking notes was very helpful for me.

| Thanks Robin, Again any information and shared knowledge I find is useful since my husband and I are just beginning this journey pretty much even though its been about 3 years we feel sometimes like we are constantly starting over all the time every time they change a medication doseage or we have a setback with a seizure with me. its just frustrating. A test will come back and we have no new information to go off of we really are thinking of going to a level 4 clinic to see if they have anything more definitive to say about it. |

| Never once did our doctors spread out the test results and compare them. Frustrated me to no end. I would highlight any that I questioned, and occasionally they would be stumped. Tests didn't always give me the answers. In fact most were far too generic. Seizure setbacks always were another frustration, but it became a challenge to me. Like a puzzle, and then we would tackle the common thread and slowly, slowly we began to see results. It was one reason I wanted her med free, so we could see what actually her body was responding to, and not have the meds to confuse the issue. Let's pray that your little one responds well to the recent increase. Give him a hug for me.
