Rain Cloud Always double vision

ONE OF THOSE NIGHTS. I ALWAYS HAVE DOUBLE VISION. IT'S WORSE SOMETIMES LIKE TONIGHT WHERE IT BECOMES MORE DEFINED (FURTHER APART) MY MOUTH IS A LITTLE NUMB. I ONLY WORRY WHEN IT BECOMES 4X VISION. THAT'S WHEN I'M IN REAL DANGER. I HAVE TO PRACTICE ANOTHER HOUR OR SO. ....5 MIN LATER...IT'S PASSING NOW. THE WEIRD FEELING I WASN'T EVEN NOTICING BEFORE WENT AWAY FIRST AND VERY QUICKLY. IT ALL LASTED ABOUT 30 MINUTES. UPDATE IN 3HRS AND BY 1PM TOMORROW (monday) I'LL BE FINE TONIGHT, BUT IT'S BEEN 5 MONTHS SINCE MY LAST GRAMD-MAL, AND I'M PRETTY SURE ONE'S COMING IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. I'VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO STOP ONE/THREE YET. IT'S 2;10 AM HERE. NOW I PRACTICE - SORRY, BUT THIS IS PART OF WHY I JOINED RIGHT?

All better, and yes i do have emergency contacts

Yeah, i'm fine. I just can't call somebody every time it comes on. It's like the boy who cried wolf!!! I'm due for a big one...... I practiced for another hour at least, and recorded some weird stuff, so i'll listin to whatever i came up with tomorrow. I watched the super bowl, and all those flash bulbs didn't help. Sleep now.

Glad you are okay. The double vision is disconcerting isn't it? Do your best to avoid triggers -- like those Super Bowl flash bulbs -- and keep your fingers crossed.

Always double vision

1:11 PM monday, I feel good. Thanks Nakamova. Yes, the phrase "keep your fingers crossed" sums it up very nicely! The double vision is something I've just become used to, but as soon a things start to 'spread out" it gets scary, and 4x in each eye is crazy.

Hello Ron,
Nice to meet you. Glad to hear you are ok at the mow. I was just wondering when do you get your 4 vision? Is it when you are actually in bed ready to go to sleep? Plus what time do you have your last tablets and how long after is it before you then go to bed? The reason for asking is over the last couple of weeks I have noticed when I have been in bed for a little while before sleeping something weird happens i.e. my bedroom is split into 4 colourful sections but wouldn't say it was 4 vision. Is this similar to what you are experiencing? I am also worried at the moment because I am starting to feel the same as I did this time last year when my first seizure (tonic-clonic) occurred in March 2009. Thank you for your time.
Kind Regards
Debbie

Hey Deb. I've never seen that exactly. It may be a visual settling-in feeling that many people have that's simply just there sometimes. If you start to smell something, you might be in trouble. That worry that looms over your head is tough. Know that that just because you have these sensations, doesn't mean you're going to have a seizure..... Odds are you'll have another one eventually. Odds also are that you will come out of it alright. Never keep a glass of water next to to the bed, by the way.
I take 25mg of topiramate at night. Now what works for me is to take it according to what time I'm planning to wake up the next day. I want to make sure I get 8 hours sleep. Therefore, if I want to wake up at 8AM, I'll take my meds at 11PM, and go to sleep by midnight. This is what works for me, with my particular medication, and condition, so it might not work for you.
Please excuse me if I complain some more.......As far as the way I see 4X, it's literally 4 of everything in each eye (still only 4, not 8, in both eyes combined, I don't know why.) One time I was close to home, and I had the choice of crossing a four way intersection with 4X vision, or to stay there and pass out. I waited a minute, but I was not going down in public again. I crossed...... It was WILD. I really don't advise this for anyone........I think it's safe to say that the risk of a public grand-mal is statistically, not as dangerous as being hit by a truck.
Right now, I'm scared....I feel a big one coming. I'm trying to stave it off...... I've never succeeded. I have recording sessions all next week. I kept it together when I saw my mom today (all 2 of her, very clearly defined) I need this forum. Deb, I have never spoken to other people with epilepsy after so many years, so it's like, what do I know? I'm supposed to be making you feel better. Anyway, late nights are hard, but it's when I get my best work done, and I hate the sun. If I get back at it, I'll get a couple more hours of practice in before I crash. I feel way better than I did a few hours ago. -Have a great day!
