Unhappy Broken Bones in Feb, March, and NOW MAY!

So, ya'll know I had ankle surgery on Feb 13th of this year. I recovered well from it.. so that's ONE good thing.

Then on March 20th at about 3 AM I broke my wrist from a seizure. It seemed to heal okay.. but...........

The last few days I've had some pain in my wrist, and especially in my hand. Not really swollen, but just achey and weird. I was worried about it, so I called the ortho and the nurse said to go to the ER to get an X-ray or go to Urgent Care at the Ortho's office.

So.. yesterday I went to Urgent Care to get an X-ray... and.. yep, have a FRACTURE. My scaphoid is fractured. This bone is is in between my wrist and thumb and a lot of time when it's fractured there isn't a lot of swelling and it doesn't show up on x-rays so it's misdiagnosed as a sprang. Anyway, mine showed up, and I'm in ANOTHER splint.

As to HOW I did it? Nobody knows. I take daily walks trying to get back into shape, and I did fall down (my kitty Nemo tripped me) last week, but I didn't put my wrist out, so I don't think that did it.

Sadly it's possible that this fracture is from the original wrist injury (when I broke my radius) in March, and if that's so, that means it didn't heal.. and a lot of times a scaphoid fracture doesn't heal, and needs surgery. So I go back to the ortho on June 6th and we'll find out how it's healing. Which it BETTER be or I'll need surgery. If I have to have surgery in June, it'd be ironic, since my first and major ankle surgery was in June of last year..

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know whats up.. I'm not in a lot of pain so it's not a huge deal, but it's still a bummer. I'm just worried about what's going to happen next. It's annoying and making me go out of my mind how things just keep happening. *screams*

Cool Maybe your 'quota for life' has been met?....

...one can hope right?

Sorry bout all that Kate! Smaller fractures REALLY suck cause sometimes they don't really bother you until it's WAY later!

Hope it mends quickly!

Thumbs up Kate, Kate, Kate ...

... what are we going to do with you?

I had been wondering how you have been. It is good to hear from you, but the news could have been better. Take care of yourself. The bubble wrap is in the mail.
