Crazy Week that started out so good

My husband and I started our week out by flying to Cody, Wyoming for our niece's high school graduation. We had a great flight and an extra day to drive over to Yellowstone National Park (which, if you haven't been there, is everything they say it is -- fabulous). Anyway, while we were there, I got a call that my Dad had been lifewatched by helicopter to Omaha, Nebraska for respiratory failure. He has had severe asthma for many years but it has been stable for the most part. For whatever reason, his lungs just gave out. He was in ICU for 4 days on a respirator. When we landed back in Wichita around noon on Mon., we jumped in the car and drove to Omaha. Dad is now out of ICU and breathing with supplemental oxygen. He's making a very slow recovery as he lost all of his strength. My husband and I drove home today as we both must work tomorrow but I'll probably be going back in the next week or so to help out when he is released from the hospital. My sisters and I will tag-team staying at the house and helping him and Mom out while he recovers (hopefully). It frustrates me -- my Dad never smoked and lived all of his life on a farm. Made for a long week and I'm still worried but, thankfully, no seizures.

Best wishes to your dad for a quick recovery. Prayers for all the family for strength and strong faith and for a continued seizure free time. My thoughts are with you.

Thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers. It's going to be a long arduous climb for him to recover from this so we'll see. It's hard for me to see my Dad in this condition -- he and I have always been so close.
