cruelThis is absolutely cruel. What if they treated people with seizure disorders this way? They used to, and I'm sure that in some areas, that is what they do. I will admit that people do get caught up in spiritual services, and may look like a seizure, but I'll leave that up to you to decide for yourself. | I guess it's possible that these spiritual seizures are psycho-seizures. People can get worked up with a certain kind of spiritual ecstasy, but it makes me pretty uncomfortable to see something like that. There was a movie a few years ago (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) about a girl who was subjected to an exorcism for what seemed to be epilepsy (or perhaps some kind of psychosis). It was a based on a true story. Horrifying. |

| This made me feel physically sick. It's disgusting, and i don't know what is worse - the guy playacting and putting up with all that, or all the people standing around like it's a spectator sport. I bet that quite a few of the people standing around there thought that it was going too far but didn't want to say anything. And these are so called ministers of god? I'm going to leave my opinion at that, otherwise i will go into a real rant and i'd say that most people here would not want to see that.

| Wow - I agree with what you said and more. Many years ago when the Exorcist came out (no, not that) I saw it in Kansas City. I had a grand mal two nights after that - could not sleep well. Gee, wonder why? Suffice it to say I would never see another movie dealing with any of that subject matter or people who lie on the floor seizing for religious (?) purposes. |
