Im allergic to Vimpat !!!!

Another drug I'm allergic to and this one I was hoping it was my allergy shot that was the reaction.
21 drugs later and this happens
My VNS works with my drugs to control me.
My seizures are on my left side and I just feel hopeless, I was thinking this drug was my last hope.

I'm sorry Belinda. I know you were really counting on the Vimpat to work.
Hopefully your dr can find something that works perfectly for you. (((HUGS)))

The doc I saw at UAB wants me go off vimpat till Monday the 22, than he wants me go back on it.It seems because I didn't get a rash he doesn't believe I have a problem with it. When I told him I was allergic to quite a few other meds and never got a rash like with Lamictal I just scratched myself raw he said he's never seen a case where the person didn't get the rash .I don't like this guy don't like being called a liar.

I'm still itching and I know it's not because it's winter.

Monday the 22nd I'll start back with 1 pill once a day for a week go up again
next1 pill once a day for a week than 2 pills twice a day.
If I'm even able take this drug I don't care itch like crazy forever.

I go see my allergist today and I'm going talk to her about this med.

That stinks. Morphine does this to me too every time I would get it but doesn't give me a rash like most people get when they're allergic to it so when I went to the ER when I broke my foot one dr said forget about it and the nurse refused to give me any.
One dr may tell you one thing and another will tell you something else.
It's up to you what you want to do, not your dr. and I think that whatever makes you feel better is the route you should take.

wow, that is just brutal. And I thought that I had tried a lot of meds.

Stick in there, I don't know what else to say.

I just found the Drug information sheet that I got the other day when I picked up my Rx for Vimpat and included in the side effects does include one or two sentences in there that should not be disregarded.

Quote :
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare, however, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction: rash, itching and/or swelling, (especially of the face/ tongue/throat,) severe dizziness, trouble breathing. This is not a complete list of possible side effects.
