I'm like you Laurie. I can't smoke and do other things at the same time. That's how I've managed to cut back. So now, instead of smoking, I'll do cross stitch or crochet. I've made several blankets, some of which were raffled off to raise money for the school that I used to work at. I'ts nice to see something useful coming out of my time and being appreciated. So now I'm about at 6-8 cigarrettes a day. Not bad considering I was at a pack and a half.

Determined that by May 12th, my birthday, I'll be smoke free. Best present! Always - Laurie

Talking That's just soooo cool, Laurie!!!

Keep working at it, and I KNOW you can do it! You, too, Skillefer!

Yes, I STILL have the pack of cigs I bought that night...and no, I haven't smoked anymore of them, since then. I go through these weird binges with cigs. I can't explain them. *SIGH*

As for me, I'm doing better. Really, I am. Now, I'm getting ready for my mother's visit. And getting ready to go job-hunting. For a "real" job to get me through the next 3 or 4 years, with benefits....so I can get rid of hubby. OY.

Laurie.......

Sometimes, I just have to sit and think about what can possibly relax me most to get into a "zone" to calm down. Sometimes it can be reading, sometimes it's cooking, sometimes it's sewing or crafting in any one of about ten different forms. And sometimes, it's DAYDREAMING about the beach....

Well, I've got to go. I've got people watching over me today to make sure I get things done before my mother gets here.

Toodles.

Meetz

LOL....funny how visits from mothers can be stressful. I mean in the cleaning to get ready for them to visit....

Mothers can be stressful in a lot more ways than just cleaning!!!

I love mine a lot, but she can drive me nuts. I am already close enough to walk.

Meetz -

Sorry you had a bad day the other day, but I am glad things have gotten better. Even though my hard dates to go through are April 19th and August 3rd, I had a complete meltdown around Christmas. I started to think that I was going absolutely crazy. It seemed to me that nobody cared how I was feeling. Then I exploded on my entire family and I still feel bad because I can't take those words away. I certainly understand dreams coming back. The closer it gets to Aug. 3rd, the more nighmares I have. The last time that I got really drunk was Aug. 3rd, 2006, the day I lost Tina. I have not drank since but sometimes I would really like to go and get totally smashed, just to be numb. Even though our relatives might drive us nuts sometimes, we have to remember to tell them we love them constantly.
