Poem

I just wanted to share this poem that a couple of my friends wrote for me. I thought it was really cute and when they sent it to me it made me cry.

FOR KRISTA

This is a story about a girl named Krista a beautiful girl
A girl who now lives in a whole different world
She’s fine one minute, and the next she’s in a hospital gown
After a ride in an ambulance to another hospital in another town

One word says it all, no one knows why
We ask for answers as we look upword to the sky
She had so many come around to visit
When she spent two weeks at abbott around Christmas

She has epilepsy, there’s nothing that can be done now
But with her courage and strength and support of others she’ll get through it that’s how
Today she is standing here talking and educating
She’s got people staring and gawking please ask questions she’s waiting

She may have helmet hair under there with all the stares but I don't care But I feel sorry for her I mean why her it’s just not fair
She went in for heart surgery in 2005
We are all just glad she’s a part of our lives

This angel here with us showing her toughness
This 21 year old is educating with her degree as a specialist in health and
fitness There’s so much more about her that I would like to say
The courage and strength this 21 year old has today, just shows everyone here it's okay

Her sister Alyssa who is eight keeps track of her and is willing to stay. To watch over her sister every night and every day
Unfortunately this A-B honor roll student can drive no more
If asked I would be her shofur

Stay around her, be next to her, stay to watch over and make sure nothing is wrong with her. Her 8 year old sister Alyssa watches even in the shower. This blonde hair angel with her blue eyes
Is the bravest, most courages person in everybody’s eyes

If everyone could be so loved

That is a great gift from your friends and is founded in love.

Thank you for sharing that with us and making us all feel a little better as well. These sound like true friends.

Life still holds many more of these treasures for you.

That was really good and meaningful. Thank you for sharing it with everyone.

It helps other people to understand how people feel about epilepsy persons.

I have had other people read this and they tear up.

Very special treasure to hold near and dear. Your friends are unique.
I wish others were as kind.

I agree on everything you just said. We need more people like that. I have lost some friends since of gotten epilepsy and I think it's because they're scared...they'll talk to me so I guess I didn't totally lose them, but won't hang out with me and we don't we barely talk. I guess I found out who my true friends are and those that will really stick by my side and not just say they will. I've also received dirty looks for wearing my helmet and gotten comments about it. I had one girl that actually pretended to have a seizure to make fun of me and she laughs about my helmet. It really hurt my feelings and then I got to thinking about how immature this girl is being, we're both adults and she still acts like she's in high school. I'm glad that I have the close friends that I have that will be by side no matter what. I am a very sensitive person, so I try to focus on those that I love and that love me back.

Your lucky to have such friends who care about you and express your plight. If you feel like it you could share it in The Creative Writing Page...Alway Laurie
