Reality DawningI suspect that I am just getting used to Keppra, but have noticed that I have been having a few absent moments and 'head rushes' - more so than normal. Probably the stress, but hey |

| Could the head rushes be indicative of a cardiac (blood pressure) problem?

I will say that I had some really weird reactions to Keppra. REALLY WEIRD. But Mr B DOES have a good point. Did your doctor think about checking out your heart, too, or not? If not, you might ask..... |

It certainly is something to think about though - so thank you and as I have to see him again on Monday, I will ask him to check it again x
Thank you both though, I really do appreciate this. I hate moaning and griping and know that far too many of you are going through much worse. |

Lol Tempus, it's all right. This is what the Padded Room is for. And it doesn't matter how much control one has versus another.........it's true, some of us are far worse off than others---I will give you that. I thank my lucky stars on a daily basis that my seizures are not nearly as bad as everyone else's even though I have four types. But I DO understand what you mean about "feeling like me again". It's particularly tough when you are going onto a new med, and all the strange new feelings that go along with it. In time, it will be all right. If it's not, SPEAK UP AND MAKE THE DOCTOR DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. REMEMBER, YOU PAY THE DOCTOR'S SALARY. Take care. Meetz |

| Unfortunately dizziness is a common side effect of Keppra, but it should wane as your body adjusts to the drug. If it doesn't disappear, tell your neurologist! In the meantime, keep hydrated (dehydration can make dizziness worse) and try to pay close attention when standing up or moving -- take deep breaths and avoid sudden moves, especially with your head/eyes. I hope you feel better soon. |

Truth is, I haven't really got any better this week and today has probably been my worse day. I lack energy, know that I have had at least two absent moments today (that I know of anyway) and just have a horrible sense of dread that 'something' is going to happen. Incidentally, my husband informed me yesterday morning that during the night I had a seizure. I thought that the keppra would be making me feel better by now (I am now on 750mg a day - increase my dose to 1000mg on Wednesday). I hate moaning so please forgive me... just needed to get this off my chest. |
