Seizure Or SLeep walking -very angry

Hey all.

Wanted to vent, but also mention something that happened 2 nights ago.

I woke up and needed the bathroom. I remember going to use the bathroom but then after that nothing...... then came around and I was stood in the shower opening and closing the shower door... maybe I was sleep walking.. and the noise of opening and closing the shower door woke me up ? After that I was kinda half awake but I remember being clumsy and going to the fridge and then the front door...it was really weird, and I dont know if I slept walked or had a seizure.

Aside from that, 2 months ago (as mentioned on a previous post) I was taken to the ER having a seizure ive never had before (jerking on the right side of my body..leg and shoulder that wouldnt stop)

I should have had weeks off work after that becuase I was having the jerking pretty much everyday for a while.. until meds were increased etc.

Anyway.. I did take 2 days off (I onyl work part time anyway)..

Well yesterday due to some stress I saw twitching of my muscles, and I figured I was going to have a seizure, so I canceled my last 30 minute student at work (Im a piano teacher) and I went home.

This morning I went into work to pick up some music I had left, and my boss said he was bothered that in the past 2 months I took 2 days off work and canceled a student. I could not believe it.. I should have had weeks off work...but I cant afford it...

He knows I have seizures but I have not gone into detail, all I have told him is that they are not tonic clonic... but he doesnt know how this affects me on a daily basis.... feeling tingling and muscle twitches... and Im really miffed off to say the least.

Im trying to do the right thing... make a living ..work .. pay my bills... take care of myself and prevent seizures but there is only so much I can do. I feel like a complete failure. I am so upset, sometimes I just want to fall asleep and never wake up.

Vent away! It sounds as if you are going through a rocky patch. Take a deep breath and give yourself credit for all that you do!

Is there any way you can sit down with your boss and talk about his expectations and concerns in terms of your attendance? If he's a decent person then he should be able to understand why you've needed to take the time off. If he's a jerk, then save your energy and focus on making yourself feel better.

The sleepwalking sounds a bit like seizure. Even if it isn't, it may be a sign that you need to work on getting better sleep. There are meditation exercises, nutrients, etc. that might help. I hope you feel better soon.

Best,
Nakamova

Awww Vapour - it sounds as if you are going through a pretty distressing time at the moment.

I agree with Nakamova. The stress alone will probably be getting to you which as we all know, increases the likliehood of having seizures. You must take it easy. *hugs*

Vent away all you like - I did today and it certainly made me feel just a little bit better xx

As a child, I was a sleepwalker from the time I could walk until age 13. Last year, when I got diagnosed with seizures, I thought I was having a sleep disorder, as it reminded me of my childhood.
I have simple and complex partials and have been very lucky as far as my meds doing their job. But it is frustrating since there is so much more than comes with the territory than most without seizures can comprehend. That's why this place is so great...it does help to have others who truely understand.
Just remember, you may only be one person to this world, but to somebody, you are their world. Take care of yourself...we are here for you.

Yeah, some

days it really does suck having E, period. Perhaps it would do you some good to take a bit more time off, and have a serious talk with your boss, although I know you don't want to.

Get some rest, take care of yourself, and know that you're not alone. We'll be here for you no matter what.

Take care.

Meetz
