Throwing My Hand Up in the Air!

It's just too much for one person to handle. Recently diagnosed with Temporal Lobe Epilespy, of course, I have to get the "mysterious strain, I also have Bi-Polar Condition and a Dissociative Condition. When I had my first seizure, frankly, I was "pissed of with God" (sorry if I've offended the devout). "Just pile it on" I said. Despite being stabilized for nearly 10 years for Bi-Polar last night I swung high. Euphoric. But you can go just so I before you drop to the basement of yourself. I've been there. This mania can't be good for temporal lobe epilepsy and am trying to get in touch with my doctor...until then, I come here and rant.

I think of haird and all that he's gone through and feel a bit guilty expessing my fears about my conditions, but as my therapist says "It's all relative. You are allowed to own your own pain."

While, in mania, I posted in a few forums last night. Opinions set and not bad writing, I think, because when you're in mania what you do, you to very well but to excess and then a long time before the the burn out. My postings went on and on and on....I image anyone seeing how lengthly they were didn't even want to take them on.

I usually don't post here. I keep much to myself but these days I'm finding that I'm reaching out. There must be people here who have dual or multiple diagnosis accompanying Epilipsy.

Laurie

Sorry to hear you're having such swings Laurie. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you and you find some balance. Does meditation help at all?

LightningBolt Thank You Laurie!!!

Laurie,
Life can be hell especially withBi-Polar Mania, and Manic Depression this what I and when it hits it can throw you for the highest high or the lowest and can cause hallucinations. I had problems with these conditions since I was 4yrs. old along with epilepsy and Laurie this not to make light of what you are going through right now! Since I started having more problems with my brain: like agensis of the corpus callosum, arachnoid cyst, right temporal lobectomy and right hemisphere so yes it can cause pain and now I have stenosis of spine. Like last night I finally gave up and just let it out and started crying it helped a little.Life will frustrate all the time so keep talking somebody and you are allowed to throw your hands up and rant. Just remember we are all family that care no matter what!! We are a big support system.I have no family here and nobody checks on me except you all and thank God for that!! So it is my turn to tell you to contact me any time day or night don't forget!! God understands when your are mad and frustrated so don't worry about others feelings.
Just continue taking care of your syptoms, and side effects, and your seizures. And just take care of yourself!
David

Laurie,
I too have been diagnosed with bi-polar and worked through my dissociative identity disorder about six years ago. I am currently in a manic swing. The lack of sleep does my seizure disorder absolutely no good; I work on my photography when I'm manic.
Hopefully, we'll both get back to a normal mood today.

Meditation does help, also...

...my determination to gain knowledge about interconectivity re: temporal lobe epilepsy and my other conditions. Just this morning I was reading that my mysterious temporal lobe epilepsy symptoms could account for B-Polar swings, my creative bents and that in (DID) personality changes can occur even when not having seizures.

All along, I might have been misdiagnosed. I simply (there's really no "simply) be a person who has Epilepsy. Something to bring up with my neurologist and read up on some of those frustrating atricles. I've flagged the link you last sent me and will be reading it over the weekend.

Thanks so much for checking up on me. I really appreciate it.

Always Laurie

David, you are a constant inspiration for me. Really, it's a miracle you're alive. With your faith in God, I think when it's your time, you'll be seated right next to God at His banquet table. Love to you - Laurie

Molly, it gets pretty messy up there, hey? This morning I'm just tired. I've been stabilized with Bi-Polar for eight years now so it came as a surprise. Understanding dissociation...now I know why people used to look at me so strangely. It's comforting to know I'm not alone. Thank you for checking on me. Let's keep in touch. Always Laurie (sometimes)

Laurie,
Something I found out when I was working out my DID issues was that there is one "part" that experienced seizures. Unfortunately for me, when I integrated, that "part" was the one that became predominant. Hence, a wonderful seizure disorder to live with.
Have a good day.
