Unhappy UPDATED INFO: Son Sees Ortho / Mom has another E again

October 21st, just in time for everyone to go to work;
was far too eerie. I believe I've posted several places
of how I've hated or majority of the MVA's (motor
vehicle accidents) have happened in the month of October
than any other month! In fact, with my son, 7 of his
8 car accidents were in ... OCTOBER!

==================

1) My son's girl's girlfriend received the news that
her boyfriend was seriously injured at work (he works
nights) and his boss said most likely a broken rib or
ribs, if not, a fractured rib. (It was a result of another
employee's carelessness) Because she was so freaked
out in the middle of the night, she phoned us; walked
over, and in spite of "I" who had seizures earlier and
was "not all there yet" - was like in and out.

She had phoned her boyfriend to tell him that she was
here at our place (not wanting to wake up her mom for
she had to get up early for work) and knowing that the
cell phones were dying - it was easier for the workplace
to call here on our line to let him (her boyfriend) to know
where to go.

Well ... it turned out I guess, that all this stress started
"that time of the month" on his girlfriend, and by the time
he arrived here; even though he was in pain, but it was
his mother's car. Because she needed to head to the
24 Hour Pharmacy to pick up some personal stuff, and
did not want to go alone, everyone went into the car
while he drove. Even though he (driver) had been drinking,
he insisted he was fine.

EDITED TO ADD
- Forgot to add that at the Intersection,
a driver pulled out in front of them ...

Not only did he overshot the turn, he plowed right over
the curb, into the tree, and through the fence, and just
totally made a mincemeat out of his mother's car!
Everyone in the car were injured, in fact, he, the driver, had
to be air-flighted to the trauma center!

EDITED TO ALSO TO ADD: They (Medics) also had to
cut through the car roof to get almost everyone out
of the vehicle.

I did take photos, but they are too graphic, but I will post
a few accident scene photos (while they did clean up much
of the mess) as soon as I pick up the photos.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

2) Here's the odd part, and I am so embarrassed and I
had never-ever done this in my entire life, I must have had
another seizure, and it's almost too eerie!

WHY?

Well, I took my anti-epileptic drugs at my scheduled time, and I
am unsure what happened, but it was like something like
10 till 6 AM, but in my head, I was thinking it was PM,
and I felt fear, panic, and "late for dinner" came in my
mind and began to grab the stuff for dinner, and then
I remembered, I had to take my anti-epileptic drugs!

Go figure what happened!

I took my PM anti-epileptic drugs.... less than an hour after
taking my AM anti-epileptic drugs, then rushed outside which I
normally find my son about this time, to apologize
and to tell him I'm going to start supper and became
so confused as why it was so dark outside and where
was my son? And why was people driving off to work?
I realized only then it was in the morning! I was totally
lost, all out of sync, and then I REALLY WENT INTO
A PANIC and freaked out!

I tried to phone my Neurologist's office and only ended
up with the answering machine; reverted to phoning my
Primary and he phoned me back - I am still unsure if I
made any sense to him, because I don't even remember
what I said to him! But I do remember what he told me
to do because I wrote it down.

AND HERE'S THE FREAKY PART:

A) My son and his girl were at the same Hospital ER as
I was transported at, but we were in different section of
it - never knowing each other were there!

B) When my son was discharged, he swore he saw me,
but I didn't see him, and yet, he kept talking about having
seen me there, however, the girlfriend of the driver, the
mother who came to pick them up - was informing him
that he just got out of a bad, bad car accident, so it was
his injuries.

C) He arrives home, and he FREAKS! He sees the note
on the refrigerator door - "Mom in Hospital ER", because
he had the discharge papers, he immediately phones the
ER - and they inform him I am indeed over there and he
gets the information of what happened to me.

D) Then I get the information later on when I get all back
to "normal" of what happened to my son and everyone
else. My heart really sunk, I had this awful feeling about
their friend, the driver, I just knew that I knew that I knew
he was in a bad shape, even though the Nurse told me
all 3 were okay, but there were 4, because only 1 drives!

How FREAKY can that be?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOW - my mother had to come and pick me up from the
ER (which I was confused, as I wasn't yet, all 100% back
to normal yet, for I knew she was out of town, but that
was TODAY when she's out of town, not yesterday) in
the afternoon.
And take someone who's not all completely out of postictal
state and 2 injured people and that's quite a feat right
there, I didn't even know what exactly I was doing most
of the time, because I wanted to sleep, and they're in
extreme pain and keeping me up (yes, they have meds),
and I'm beyond bewildered!
My son realizes they're too much for me, had to phone
his dad (my ex) for help, in which he took off from work,
because it was an emergency.
------------------------------------
Come today, as expected (having been through many
MVA accidents, the worse part is the day after and the
next); however with my son with fractures - the mother
of the driver is refusing to supply us with her Insurance,
even my ex tried to obtain the info and she's refusing
in turn leaving us with no choice but to having to call an
Attorney. *sigh* Then I learn today, for added insult,
due to the nature of the accident, the Sheriffs didn't
make the report but the Highway Patrol did - and they
take LONGER - 7 to 10 days, and my son is supposed
to see a Orthopedic Specialist / Surgeon today! His meds
is NOT going to last 7-10 days!
Both "adults" are acting like 1-2 year olds right now...
which is totally understandable - they are in extreme pain,
and "I" on the other hand, am recuperating from the
stupiditiy I had done yesterday, but the ER Doctor told
me it wasn't my fault, it was very highly likely I had another
seizure that triggered this. But still I'm so embarrassed by
this, I think they flushed that out of me via IV, I can't
remember ...
Like I told my mom, I just wished October 21st was a
chalkboard - because I would have liked to erase it (my
son and his girl agreed with me as well).
Arrow Addendum Note:
I also wanted to post an update on the Driver:
While he was transported from ICU, went into
CCU with head and bodily injuries - he is now in
good but stable condition in the Trauma Center.
And later on, we received the news that most of
his injuries were sustained to the bodily than to
the head than originally thought at first. But he is
still being monitored.
We should be receiving some updates on him soon.
PS: Of note - I must imply that ONLY MY SON was
wearing a seat belt - no one else was! However, my
son actually saved his girl's life (that's how he broke
his arm) by reacting and keeping her from being thrown
forward to the front of the car!
ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEAT BELTS!
OMG it never rains but it pours, that was a huge list of things all happening at once!!!! I am glad to hear that everyone is going to be ok.
Wearing a seatbelt saved my mums life a few years ago, I was in work watching all the ambulances/police/fire engines going by my window not realising they were attending an accident that my mum was involved in. When my dad rang me, a friend from work took me to the scene and I got there just in time to see my mum being cut out of the car by firemen, there was not much left of the car. Injury wise - she got off very lightly, she had the most horrendous bruises I have ever seen, her body was black and blue especially where the seatbelt fits round, she had a broken collarbone and whiplash, if it wasn't for the seatbelt, well it doesn't bear thinking about.
I remember this accident wasn't in October, because it was the day before my birthday in November.
OMG!!!! What a day.
Was the driver sited for DUI, although he's now in the Trauma Center? Thankfully your son was wearing his seatbelt and saved his girlfriend's life.
Just three weeks I finally was in traffic court because of a traffic accident I was in back in May. I had a complex partial seizure while driving, the 1st time ever, and ran into another car. I didn't realize I had the accident until I was already home and the police arrived at my door. Anyway, when I was in court, I was the last to appear in front of the judge and had to listen to 4 other cases, all of them drunk driving cases. I was so POd after hearing all of them, knowing they'd all probably do it again, since they'd all been there before, yet I had gone years without driving. I'm waiting for the ok from my neurologist now. Why do drunk drivers think it won't happen to them? Do they have to kill someone before they stop driving?
Anyway, stay safe and take care.....
(((HUGS)))
Exclamation I do apologize, but get ready for the photos!
Please see my EDITED postings, I did err; I
misunderstood everyone - and corrected the
original post.
And plus one of my neighbors also witnessed
it as well and saw the whole thing and was able
to ID them. But as for the vehicle that pulled out
in front of them that he swerved to avoid hitting
them - like the neighbor said it best - "they are
all lucky to be alive!"
The Law Enforcement is STILL investigating this
case and everything, so I did have to remove some
of what was posted, because it's not confirmed yet,
and it was premature for me to post something that
was not fully confirmed yet. So I do apologize for it,
but I do now have the photos in my possession and
will upload the photos of the accident scene and a
few photos of my son and his girl - just to show how
"LUCKY" they were! But this is NOT all of their injuries,
please bear that in mind!
Some of the photos are pretty graphic and I will not
scan and upload those, but I will give you a general
idea of just what it was like! Both she and my son
have picked a photo they want displayed and nothing
more, and I respect their wishes, and as for the accident
scene, it's scary!
Son - Wounded Photo
This is a photo of my son, Steven,
wounded - not a good one, but he
opt for this one, you can barely see
his black eyes, see his broken arm,
and some of his wounds from metal,
glass, etc - from the car and other
stuff. And you can see the injury
on his leg (partially).
He selected this photo because the
others were just too graphic to be
shown.
Kim - Wounded (Steven's girl)
Kim selected this one, just to show what
"head trauma" can do. She opt for this one
out of the others that were far worse. Just
to show what an accident can do if you do
not wear your seat belt! If it weren't for her
"baby", she would have been in far worse
condition!
You really didnt need this to happen! What a terrible time for you.
Praying that everyone recovers soon and that you can have better times ahead.
Hope the attorney and accident investigators sort things out soon.
I've relayed the message to the injured victims.
The Attorney's assistant did stop by my home,
and he was shocked to see their condition; while
the photos I took were greatly appreciated, he,
himself took additional photos - as the injuries on
both of them have worsen.
They (Law Firm) are going to be working with both
of them and he wasn't too happy to learn of the
"refusal" of disclosure of provision of car Insurance
information for the passengers. However, as for my
son, I will be making a different attempt to get him
into a hard cast with the "appointed Doctor" and if
that Doctor refuses to accept him, then my son will
have to call the Law Firm back up to let them know
and they will get him one ASAP.
The additional photos that he took benefits those
that I took after the accident - they have a solid case.
And he wasn't too happy to learn that neither one of
them were given a Police Report or Case Number, and
I was the one who had to do the man-hunt to obtain
such information - it really peeved him off, as if they
(the victims) were being brushed aside. Even more so
it was very odd that my ex (who had hired my son to
do some contracting work as he purchased a new home,
and now is stuck because my son is injured badly and he
can't do the work) called at the same time the Attorney's
Assistant was here (my ex didn't know that he was here).
While I have turkey in the oven, I know turkey has things
in it that helps a lot to your body (and you wonder why
people get sleepy after Thanksgiving? *laughs*) - and the
Attorney's Assistant knew I was doing the right thing
because it will help them a lot.
Both Kim and Steven really wants prayers and thoughts,
BIG TIME! But "easy on the hugs please". And also wants
prayers that I don't have seizures during this time is their
greatest worry, they even said that to the Attorney's
Assistant - neither one of them can handle me if I had one,
and my son was "just trying to be funny", by saying if I
had one, he'd have to pull me by my hair and drag me
across the floor...
Angry It is literally raining outside, and it matches the quote "When it rains, it pours!"
Just now gotten back from the ER, and my son who
was nearly passing out from extreme pain. While he's
scheduled to see an Orthopedic Doctor/Surgeon on
Monday @ 2 PM ~ He just could not bear it anymore
and being without any medications; and no Walk-In
Clinics would accept an Accident Victim who had already
been seen by an ER, and it goes on from there.
*sigh*
Ended up back to the ER and only to find out that
indeed his ankle is a lot worse than originally thought,
he has what the Doctor had found out - multiple torn
ligaments, and possibility some muscles, as well as a
very bad sprain.
A different type of a pain killer was prescribed and we
just now returned back home. When we did arrive, they
were surprised to see his BP (blood pressure) was high,
and that's usually a sign right there that there's a problem.
As usual, he was cranky as cranky can be, but of course,
he was in pain, and at several points he had tears running
down in his eyes, but we try to humor him to get him to
laugh to ease his mind off of pain. But they (ER) saw that
and it was of concern.
On the flip-side, I don't know how much more I can take;
as I feel like I'm being pushed way over the fence, especially
being so sleep deprived, trying to keep myself in one piece,
and I'm getting auras off and on - while they're only mild
at the moment, but I'm sensing that if things keep it up the
way its going - I'M GOING to end up being in trouble ... I
keep having to remind them constantly - but I feel like that
everything I'm saying is going in one ear and out the other
and that my seizure threshold is being pushed over the fence.
I know it's not their fault, but they're SNAPPING at me like
crazy, morning, afternoon, night, and wee-hours when people
are supposed to be asleep. I've probably only but saving a total
of 5 or 6 hours of sleep since October 21st. It's asinine, and yet,
I cannot go to bed, I have to stay awake so I can phone my
own mother in a little bit so she can take me down to the
Pharmacy so I can pick up my son's prescription and only then
would I be able to get some sleep after making some phone
calls when I get back if it doesn't take me forever.
Already at this time of posting, while it's difficult for me to
type this, I'm getting these stupid auras. I just don't know
how much more I can take ... I just want to scream and cry
and sleep at the same time.
It just doesn't seem fair!
Brain,
Hopefully everything's going to get better with the entire situation with your family. I know you're dealing with so much at once, but please remember that you have to take of yourself. You really need to get your sleep. I wish you well and please keep us updated -- after you get some rest.
Sincerely,
JosieB
Sharon, please take a time out for yourself and catch your breath. You can't take care of others if you run yourself into the ground.
Best wishes.
Sharon - I agree with Bernard!
You MUST take care of yourself. It is even more important now that Steve & Kim are not able to help you. If you go into a streak like last month without their help, you may end up in the hospital for an extended time.
Take care of yourself! You don't/can't be supergirl to the world.
Best wishes to Steve & Kim for a speedy recovery.
