treatment of IS Sabril is the first choice treatment for IS in Holland for many years. In the US it was only approved recently by the FDA. I know many kids who did get controlled on Sabril (but I also know many who didn't.) The most known side effect is a permanent vision imparment (only view straight forward, not at the sides.) More information about Sabril as a treatment for IS here http://www.kidsepilepsy.com/ : see search 'by treatment' and 'by diagnosis'. ACTH is tried for many kids when Sabril doesn't work. Ganaloxone is a promising, brand new med, especially developed for IS. I recomment the IS forum http://infantilespasms.com/forum/
