Our son Aadi diagnosed with partial seizures, now epilepsy has been suffering since past 4 months, he is 9 years old. The 1st seizure came in June, MRI's are normal but EEG's show activity- since seizures have been coming. He does not seem to be responding to his medication ( diff salts/names in India), we are now in touch with a homeopath and are giving him both allopathy and homeopathy. Seizures still continue in a gap of 7-10 days, these last less that 15 seconds and its mainly flickering of the eyes- rolled up, and lower lip twitches.

Anyone here who has been through the same or knows of someone who has similar epileptic seizures where there's been no diagnosis....pls write in.

Hello Shalini! Mai bhi Indian hun. Aap kis doctor k paas jate hain. Agar doctor ye hi nahin bata pa raha ki problem kya hai to doctor change kariye. Medication batayiye, yahan sub jante hai ki alag alag davayiyon k trade names India me kya hain. Keep asking, u will get answers! Seizures k dauran kya aadi conscious rehta hai?

Hi- we are going to an epileptologist - guess he is supposed to be even better than a neurologist. he is currently on Epilex chrono -1000 mg/day and lavera 1000 mg/day and lamtec 25mg- thats a lot of medication - he's been on this since well over 2 months now with little respite. he has complex partial seizures - but he's only 9 is unable to explain any auras, or symptoms....he does remain conscious in the sense his eyes are flickering but the postictal is pretty much the same- no response, falls asleep, is restless, sometimes he also cries a lot if he gets more than 2 episodes/day- which happens at times...... the doctors do not know the cause - though both homeo and allo say its epilepsy....but bolenge bhi kya the MRI's are clean, other reports of blood and chemical tests are all fine...

Have you discussed a dietary treatment approach with the epileptologist? Both the ketogenic and the Modified Atkins Diets have had success in treating childhood seizures.

Shalini if the reports are clean that does not mean that prob is not severe! The bacha is suffering! I have epilex chrono 500 and the little sweety has 1000. Sometimes the EEG does not show any abnormality when the problem is deep seated. But u have patience! We all are here to help u! tHave a word with RobinM(moderator) about the diets. She knows a lot. Sub theek hoga bus kuchh waqt lagega medications decide karne me and body ko un k sath adjust karne me! The good news is that some types of E outgrow with age, may be aadi has the same prob!
