What was the Vegus Nerve Stimulator like? My doctor has thrown that out there as a possibility, but it kind of freaks me out. You said it didn't work for you? I really don't want that, especially if it doesn't have a high success rate.

Hi Ashley,

I have been living with epilepsy since 5 yrs old and a few yrs back, I had a major grand mal seizure that seems to have changed me in several ways and effected my memory big time. I have a great deal of problem learning new tasks and remembering currents / ongoing things as well. I also find that this is and does lead to a very depressing lifestyle. I am married and work but don't drive . As time goes / moves on I am becoming more irriable and subject to emotional behavior under stress situtations. Unfortunately a lot of people around me don't understand this however by law as they hve admitted there is nothing they can do in that area , re being dismissed from my position as I am protected under job security protection by law. So I guess I am safe in that area but yet not totally happy where I am working.

Also over the yrs growing up have you found you were or faced a lot of negivity around from others including family. There was a lot of things I wanted to do including going to university but it never hasppened do to lack opf personal support I found and negativity.

It was good to hear from you. I had been wondering how you were doing, but I have been working a lot and not on line much. Great news about the license. That must be a great feeling. I know how hard it was for me to go just a few months without driving. Good Luck!!!!!!!!

Yea that was me in the picture with Laura. It was so neat meeting her. Little Nicole is so sweet. She gave me some huge hugs. The walk was really neat and I would recommend it to anyone who is able to go some year. Plus DC is a great city. Never thought I would be able to meet someone from CWE.

So sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I am completely useless on Facebook! I just think that there is always something else to do but sit at a computer!! Don't get me wrong, I love to hear from you, but I was brought up to be out there doing stuff, not sat in front of the tv, or being indoors full stop!

I so hope you are ok when you get this? I haven't had a "wobbler" for weeks now, and I am a different person, all the better for the op, and the wonderful Trileptal which seems to have completely stopped my auras thank God!!! The worst part of my epilepsy!!!

I will keep in touch I promise, I would love to hear how you are doing my friend? I am trying so hard to find a job before I go completely bonkers sat at home day and night some folks might enjoy it, but I want new challenges, new beginnings, new direction, I'e had the op, got sorted, and I am simply bursting to get up and at 'em!!!!

Brain surgery hair is cool, I think it could catch on!?! My one concern throughout both my ops, was that they would shave off only half my bloody hair!! Anyone who remembers the punk era will know how I felt!! I bought a selection of hairbands, and while my hair was growing back, and because I can't bear my ears to show, I wore them, I had a wicked leopard print one, it was almost a shame to stop wearing them when my hair had grown back, I've kept them all in case I'm back there again, I so hope not!! All the best Ash, you look lovely mate!!
