    Seizure Background
Epilepsy is a secondary disorder for me. I have a rare neurological disorder that affects the autonomiac nervous system called dysautonomia. The sub branch of this disorder that I was diagnosed with is called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. The autonomic nervous system controls all involuntary functions in the body such as breathing, heart rate, body temperature, circulation, hormone control, digestion and sexual function just to name a FEW. I have always suffered from convulsions due to this disorder however began having true seizures in October of 2007. I was diagnosed with the previous disorder in 1994 at the age of 13. I also have Neuropathy.
