About Me
- About bellaloma
- Seizure Background
- I had my first grand mal seizure when I was 21. An MRI lead to a diagnosis of an aggressive brain tumour (mixed glioma, right temporal lobe) with partial seizures characteristic of right temporal lobe epilepsy (visual distortion, deja vu, smell, sensations in the left side).
A slew of different medications failed to control the seizures. At 22, I opted to have a right temporal lobectomy. The surgery was enormously successful. I came through without any deficits - and without any seizures.
The tumour has since regrown and I've begun chemotherapy. I am now 24 and my partial seizures are mostly controlled with medications. - Treatments
- Surgery in 2010 to address uncontrolled epilepsy. Still taking 1000mg Keppra 2x day, 10mg Clobazam 2x day, 300mg Trileptal night, weaning off Dilantin (started at 350mg, down to 150mg).
