    Seizure Background
had a febral siezure from a fever as an infant/remember having auras before my period/ i was not diagnosed until i had a grand mal seizure at age 12 when my period hit. seizures always were with the calander-ovulation and menstration. controlled for years with carmazapine in a few different forms until i hit 35 three years back. after controlled seizures for years, including childbearing years, meds decided they were no longer going to work any more. A grand mal out of the blue has left me and my family in a tail spin ever since. i tried topamax for 3 days. had a mass reaction to that and spent 4 days in emergency room. slowly have gotton on keppra 1500 2ce a day. side affects are terrible and i have not been able to gain life as it was back. i was weened off of carbatrol after being on it for 27 years. now i am having a grand mal about every 2 weeks. i have been researching the net to find that all of my physical symptoms seem to be directly connected to magnesium deficiency. i am tired of my neuologist looking at me as though i am from outerspace everytime i suggest looking into root causes without him wanting to cut my head open. they are guessing that it is scar tissue due to an infant seizure. but with what i have read about magnesium, i am not sure that i buy that. i have some of the most severe physical indications of mag deficiency and the symptoms i do not have, are in my immediate family members. would love to know where to start with the mag, how to balance it out with other nutrients as well. i am a 37 year old mother of 2 girls, sucessful college educated buisness owner. I am tired and feel helpless about my situation. help
