    Hi Laurie

God, it doesn't get any clearer how to get the hang of this website, I'd hate someone to write to me and think I hadn't bothered replying, I always reply as long as I know how to.
Well, it is 11.45 am, it's Sunday, and true to form, as it's a bank holiday weekend, it's persisting down with rain! God the weather so decides my mood for me, Mark is at work, he's a firefighter so he works funny hours, I'm going to a barbque this afternoon, should be fun sitting in the garden with a wet sausage! It's a crowd of people that I've been friends with for many years, and it's always great to get together with them, it's like one big family, Mark will come round when he's finished his shift.
I'm glad you liked my poem, tht's the most recent one, I have sort of done one for my dear mum, I lost her just before Xmas, but I usually end up in tears when I put pen to paper, I'll get it finished, still a bit raw if you know what I mean?
Not sure if I told you or not, but last week, it was National Epilepsy Week here in the UK, and I can honestly say, there was more coverage of National Shed Week a few weeks ago, and what the great British family keep in their shed!! I was so angry, I managed to get my local BBC radio station to interview me, but I wasn't on for long, and it just makes me so mad that Epilepsy gets so little exposure in this country, I think people think it's easier not to mention it, and sweep it under the proverbial carpet.I've never been scared to discuss it with anyone have you? I was more than happy to stand up and talk in The House of Lords and The Commonwealth Institute in London, and tell everyone about all the ignorance and prejudice I'd experienced especially in the workplace, I think because epilepsy sometimes affects people with other conditions like Cerbral Palsy and Downs Syndrome, people think we are all the same, and that we are all lkiely to fall on the floor shaking and foaming at the mouth. What's it like where you live, is it a bit more understood, let me know, I'm very interested to know how other countries deal with it.
Anyway, I had better go and get my self tidied up and sorted out for the barbie, hope you are ok, and I hope to hear back from you soon.

    Cheers

    Hi Laurie

Thanks for getting back to me about your wonderful creative writing page, I'll put a couple of poems on there when I get five minutes. I think we are friends now eh? I'll get the hang of this web site, but isn't it truly wonderful, to be in touch with people who simply understand each other?
I have a large red wine calling me, so I'll get my poem on here a bit later.

    Cheers

    Hi Laurie

I have just tried to put a poem on your creative writing page, but it wouldn't let me, well, I didn't put the poem on there, I just asked for help to put it on there, duh! What a dipstick I am, I know what I know with computers, but when it gets technical, forget it!

I'm so glad you got my last e.mail, I stumbled across this bit by accident, so apologies for not replying earlier, I also think I asked for you to made a "friend" but God alone knows if that worked. It's cool that we share a love of music, I also like writing lyrics, and singing, I doa lot of harmony stuff, and have won a few karaokes in my time, you can't stop me once I get a microphone in one hand, and a glass of red in the other!

I hope to hear back from you re the poems, and I'll put a couple on there, would be great to hear what other people think of them. I'm going out to make the most of the sunshine today, so catch you later.

    Cheers

I'm glad you enjoyed the haikus. I wrote most of those during a time when Stacy was uncontrolled and life was a bit stressful.

Elaine surfaces! Glad to hear from you...I think I'm the Quenn Technophobe. I tried to place you on :friend list: to no avail. Maybe between the two of us we can figure it out -that is if you're interested. I'm worn out from asking Bernard so many questions. Sure I've worn him out too. It's such a little world here and I'm anxious to roam around eg can't get into Speber's Auditorium - love music and taking about it. RobinN suggested I create a "signature link" on my post to display my poetry. ????? Well, I'm doing OK -stopped smoking and all sugar. My doctor said to wean of the cigs (too jaring for my system) so I'm taking a pinch more Lamictal and trying to stay very calm so I don't induce a seizure because I just can't wean off! I'm just black and white that way about addictions - either I do them or I don't. No middle ground or weaning off. So wish me luck and do let me know if you got this! Love - Laurie

    Hi Laurie
God I am such a technophobe, I just sat here for half an hour e.mailing you, I think I pressed the wrong button, and it vanished off the screen, let me know if you got it?

Talk again very soon, hope you are ok today, keep smiling!

    Cheers

About Me

  • About Cinnabar
    Seizure Background
Nearly two years ago, I had my first T/C Seizure and several since, sustaining injuries.
After examining my MRI with my neurologist and answering a list of questions, he gave me
the diagnosis of Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. I asked him why know in mid life? He explained
that I could have been having forms of TLE seizures all my life. TLE is connected with
experiencing the paranormal. I've had let's say "other worldly" experiences throughout
my life. I've been diagnosed with Bi-Polar and treated for it successfully for nearly eight
years. Fortunately, Lamicatal does "double duty" aiding Epilepsy and TLE. Five years ago
I was diagnosed with DID. As with Epilepsy I'd like to advocate and bring it out of the
closet as well. It's been studied and researched that TLE, Bi-Polar and DID are all
interconnected. Theories but no conclusive evidence. So, I live with many questions.
Though, my first priority is learning more about Epilepsy in general and how to manage
    my life around it.
    Treatments
Lamical 550 mg, Clonopin 5 mg, Geodon 40 mg, Zolpiden 10 mg, Dexidriene 15 mg
    Location
Long Island, New York (North Shore)
    Interests
Writing (presently, memoir), short stories, poetry. Illustrating (pen, ink, watercolor), Reading
