CQ you deserve a lot for the smiles you put on my face with your jokes, so this is for you

    Wishing you a rainbow
    For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
    For golden happy hours—
    Shamrocks at your doorway
    For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

About Me

  • About CQ:)
    Seizure Background
I was diagnosed with epilepsy as a baby & I used to have Grandmal Seizures regularly from 9 months - 3 years old. I went 21 years seizure free until May 2002 when at the age of 24 I started taking seizures again & I was diagnosed with Left Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. Most of my seizures were auras & complex partial seizures.

My neurologist tried me on 5 different medications, with none of them helping to completely control my seizures so in November 2009 he suggested I look into having brain surgery & referred me to an epitiologist. In June 2010 I met the epitiologist who went through my complete history of epilepsy. After I met the epitiologist I had a series of different tests to see if I could have the surgery & in November 2010 I was told that I was a good candidate for the Surgery. On 10 March 2011 I had left side frontal lobe surgery.

    Update as of May 2013
I am now 2 years seizure free since surgery. Under the supervision of my neurologist I completed the final steps of tapering of the Tegretol. On 26th March I stopped my AM dosage of Tegretol & on 29th April I stopped my PM dosage of Tegretol.
