I just wonder what your settings were on your camera. I recently visited there in September and the lighting was so soft; my pictures came out dulled with a lot of haze and had to have extensive post-processing to get rid of the annoying washed-out look. And I was using a UV filter and a circular polarizer.

Hi Molly

I was just reading my picture comments and I saw yours asking a couple of questions about the Grand Canyon. I am trying to remember back, but I didn't do anything exciting with the settings, it was on autofocus, I was using a polariser filter as you can tell from the deep blue in the sky, 18-55mm lens (standard lens that came with my camera) F4.5.
and just a bit of luck.
