- Seizure Background
- I have had seizures for 40 years now. Just recently I was finally diagnosed as having epilepsy
because, I went from Doctor to Doctor like a guinea pig trying to get diagnosed and the Dr's did
not know what was causing me to have seizures. I have heard many theories on how I could have
got it. I have found no real truth or facts on how I did get it, because I was very young when I
had my first seizure. Now I do alot of research on trying to cure my seizures. I have tried many
things to help me stop these seizures. Unfortunately I still do. I can't drive anymore for 6 mos now, because I stopped taking phenobarbital that I was on because of the side effects. I am still taking generic tegretol, which is ruining my liver and I want to get off medication eventually and try to control the seizures with someone that is natural. When I look back over my life and think about the encourable medical bills, the ambulance runs and the many times I have been in the hospital it is truly hard to believe that I am not in debtors prison by now. I have grand mal seizures most of the time I have no aura's. But, sometimes I do. Yesterday I had a seizure at work again I am just merely suprised they have not laid off yet. I will be almost working there two years if they don't lay me off. So far they have been working with me. They just want me out of the place while I have the seizures so they call the ambulance. So, again I am researching again today and I came across this blog and I would like to join it. Thank you - Treatments
