- Seizure Background
- I was hospitalized for 2 gran mal's, twice in one day; 2 more in following weeks; at age 48. Dr. prescribed increasing doses of dilantin/phenytoin, at 500 mg/day @ 6-7 years, now. I still experience 'partial' seizures @ twice daily, same times (early AM, early PM) + 'kicks' and other activity at night. I was forced to 'retire' fr a professional HR job w/ City of S.F. when I was not allowed to work a slightly shorter work day, to cope w/ fatigue & other problems caused by meds + seizure activity (insomnia, headaches, depression etc)
- Treatments
- phenytoin (generic dilantin) 500 mg/day. I need plenty of sleep, avoid stress/bright lights; had to quit working
