Sorry, I still do not, really, know how to use the private message functions, etc.

Yeah, we have had a jillion thing going on. Sorry.
We will be leaving for Hong Kong in the last week of September. My wife and her family are from Kowloon.
We will be watching the celebration from a high floor of a nice hotel. It will have a great view of all the fireworks, etc.

Tunisia sounds interesting, I would like to find out more about it, the history and architecture wise. Isn't Malta in Spain? I think we have been there. We have been in every country of Europe West of Germany. Europe has a lot of history that pertains to us. I did love Egypt and its historical background, plus it is where I met my wife. :-)

Wow! Getting married in Luxor sound exciting! The hotel that the two of you stayed in also sounds very exciting!
Yes, we did go to Luxor but since we were on a tour group trip, we did not get to stay long. I would like to go back to Israel and Egypt someday and spend more time there. It did impress me alot. :-) I do not think that we were able to go to the Valley of the Kings.

Sorry it has been so long from posting on the forum, we have been extremely busy. As the matter of fact, we are currently very busy. There is, currently, a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico and it will directly hit our town....lots of flooding and high winds!!! I think several of the moderators are close to me. One lives in Friendswood, which a small town outside of the Houston city limits. I think another member or two actually live in Houston itself. My wife and I live about 60 miles South of Houston...about 10 miles from the beach. There will be major flooding and high winds in our town. We just got through boarding up all of our windows, picking up everything in our yard that may blow around and cause major damage, tie down everything that we could not pick up, cage up our animals, etc., etc., etc. We arrived at a friends house, about 200 miles away and to the West of our town about 2 hours ago and are not even unpacked yet. I am just resting and trying to keep my mind from worrying about how our house may have the roof blown off and have 6 feet of water all throughout our house. Talk about stress and pressure...try that on for size.

I will try and check back later tonight and for the next few days. But, if there is damage to our house, I may be busy for a while. I will try to keep everyone informed about the latest events.

I hope you get this message because, as I have said, I do not know how these messages work and if you will receive this in your account or if you will have to check back here. If I do not hear from you, I will go to your account and try to send you a private message from there.

Tell everyone Hi! and I will try to check back soon.

    Hi TT

Hope all is well with you mate? Not heard from you for a while, I know that you and your wife are off to Hong Kong soon you lucky things!! We stayed in Kow Loon inthe Metropol Hotel, it was totally mesmerising!! I just didn't know which way to look, the people were very sweet too, and it was just completely amazing, we were in Bangkok the week before that, and that was equally fascinating! I would recommend it to anyone.

Tunisia is a very interesting place too, I've been a couple of times, and the history and architecture is incredible! The second time I went, we had a pretty crappy hotel, but apart from that everything else was great. Malta is totally beautiful, we stay on the island of Gozo, but Valetta is only a short boat trip away, and as my dad was in the navy, I remember drooling over his photos of Malta and lots of other countries, I think that was what got me interested in world travel from a small girl, I can see dad now in his navy whites with some glamourous backdrop country behind him, he hasn't been to Egypt though, I've assured him he would love it!

How lovely that you me your wife there! Mark and I would love to get married in Luxor, the hotel we used to stay in The Novotel, was situated right on the banks of the river Nile, the Theban mountains were across the Nile, and in the grounds of the hotel was a huge marble chess board, we always said it was a wonderful setting for a wedding, and the sun set behind the mountains and bathed the whole hotel grounds in beautiful deep red sunshine, aaahhh!!! I'm in Heaven thinking about it! Did you ever go to Luxor? I guess you did The Valley of The Kings too? What a wonderful place, I always feel so completely at peace with myself when I'm in that glorious country!!

I hope you are ok health wise and that we will hear from you on CWE again?

    Best Regards

    Hi Elaine

It has been awhile. My wife and I have been tremendously busy that I have missed school lessons, not been able to make my local organization meetings, etc., etc.

Things are just starting to get back to some form or normal. Sorry I have not been on the forum in a while, I am going to start being around more now.

My wife and I are going to Hong Kong in late September so I will not be here from late September to early October.

Try to keep your head up, Elaine. I know it is hard, I have my moments, at times also.
Sorry to hear that you are having to cancel so many things. I pray that things will get better. Try to keep your eyes on the full half of the glass. From my experiences, it helps to try to count the things that are going right and not vice versa. I am sure there are many, many things....things that you may take for granted. Sometimes we forget those good things that happen every day, always trying to focus on the bad.

Smile at the sunrise. Think of how you got this far. You got through those things and you will get through the current ones.

Keep in touch and let me know how things are going. Don't let yourself get to down, you are talking to someone who knows how that can be. :-)

    Hi Texas Travel

Hope all ok with you? I just thought I'd ask, have you actually been to Cairo and stood in front of the Great Pyramid and the Sphynx? We've been to Egypt 4 times now, and we absolutely love the place, Cairo is absolutely amazing, you just don't know where to look there is so much to see! I'd recommend it!

Hope you are ok? I'm very down at the moment, the seizures and auras are still olaying me up, we've got to cancel our Caribbean Cruise next March, and our Xmas holiday to Malta, the building society won't help us out so that's that! We are both feeling really miserable at the moment, we could do with winning some dosh!
Anyway, hope you are well, let me know eh/

    Love

Sorry about the confusion. I am not sure if I am supposed to respond here or to post another message in my own area.

Anyway, Wow! It is incredible that he remembered you! That is great!

Glad to hear things are going good with the surgery. Just try to remember that each new day is moving forward and try not to dwell on the past. It is hard, I know, but it is a goal. Just try to remember the good times with your Mum. It is the best thing.

Glad to hear that your epilepsy is doing better, I will be praying that everything will work out. It is definitely moving in the right direction. Getting back to work will be a good thing also. I know it is one that would help me. I do understand wanting to get out, also, I have the same emotion.

Once again, I am not sure if this is the method that I should take responding or if I am supposed to respond in my own area.

Looking forward to hearing from you, keep me updated and have fun!!!

    Sincerely,

    TexasTravel (Bo, really)

    Hi TT
Hope all is good with you? I was just looking at our holiday pics from last July in Taba Heights up on the Sinai penninsular on the Red Sea, and reminiscing. I actually rang one of the waiters up from Luxor the other week just to say hi and hope you remember us, he did, he spoke great English, but of course most of them do don't they? What lovely people, and we just can't wait to go back.

I've had my surgery now, it was five weeks ago today, and I'm doing pretty well, I'd be even happier if we had a holiday planned, it hasn't been a good year, I lost my mum before Xmas, I've lost a couple more jobs because of employer's ignorance over my epilepsy, and money is a bit tight at the moment, we hope to go back to Gozo at Xmas, I would prefer to be away when it's the anniversary of losing mum, and a mate of mine's dad has an apartment out there that he lets us have on the cheap, so we only have to sort out the flights. It will give us another chance to have a look round Malta aswell, it's only a short boat trip away.

I've had very little trouble with my epilepsy since the surgery, I'm still having the auras, but I've only had a few Complex Partial Seizures, so fingers crossed I can get behind the wheel again soon, and get back to work. That is all I want, and of course to get round the rest of the world, Canada could be fairly imminent too, my dad has a new partner who has a couple of places out there, so it would only be the flights to sort out, they are out there now lucky things.

Anyway, I hope all ok with you, and maybe I'll hear from you soon if you're not globetrotting.

    Cheers

    Hi There

Great to see the Pyramids and the Sphinx, you just can't beat standing in front of them a we did in 2001, my partner and I fell in love with Egypt, and have been back three times since the intial visit, what a wicked wonderful place, and the people are so gracious charming and kind, they so love the Brits, and couldn't do enough for us. If I knew how to put photos on this site, I'd share with you some of our memories from Malta, Tunisia, Hong Kong and Thailand, happy tavelling all, that's all I ever wanted to do from being a small child, and next March, we've got a Caribbean cruise, with three nights in New York, wow, cannot wait, as I'm waiting for a date for my second lot of brain surgery, we can't set a date for escaping this year yet, but if we only go back to Luxor in Egypt again, I would be happy, I could die happy inthe beautiful part of the world!

    Loadsalove!!

    Elaine x
