A lot of people think that not being able to drive is no big deal but as you mentioned in your last post to me, you're right, there's A LOT MORE TO IT than that ~ the emotional factor and not feeling capable or feeling like something's missing.
Thanks for the prayers, Elizabeth. Yes, it is very scary. I'm sorry you are still struggling to get control but it sounds like you are doing all the right things. Are you still working?
Beth,
So sorry to hear that you're losing your job at the end of June. Did your employer indicate why?
It's not b/c of your Ep I hope b/c that is illegal.
They can get around that law by saying they're "downsizing" or something like that.
How do you feel about it ~ after being there 19 years.
How does your family feel about it?
I'm interested b/c my family had to go through a lot of adjustment, ie: only getting paid a pension ONCE a month and BUDGET what you have, which is especially hard b/c I have 2 adult kids living with me and one doesn't work b/c he has problems ~ He is bi-polar and putting us through hell.
Thanks for asking Elizabeth. I'm pretty worn out and don't feel so great today -- no seizures although maybe a couple auras. They are going to send him to rehab Mon. or Tues. and try to help him regain some strength. He'll probably be in there a week or so and then I'm going to go back and help out once he gets home. He's improving but very slowly and has a long way to go. I just didn't realize someone could get so weak so fast and could go from an asthma attack into complete respiratory failure.
How are you doing? You were struggling to get things under control last time we talked. Hope things are getting better with you.
Having no drivers lisense now after driving my whole adult life really sucks, it's like a part of my freedom has been lost.
Luckily my wife does all the driving and when she's at work, I do a lot of walking with my dog and luckily I am close to public transit.
I hate depending on other people to drive me places.
So Elizabeth, other than that, I have no advice for you.
I was diagnosed with epilepsy in 1979. After years of testing and meds, I was able to live a perfectly normal life.
My seizures have been under control 'til 2002, then they started again.
Unfortunately, I lost my Drivers Lisense at that point.
I have to stay on the meds b/c my EEGs keep showing active seizure activity in my lower temporal lobe.
I also have Ulcerative Colitis which is also stress related.
How's your week so far?? I hope you had a great weekend. I'm still fighting constant tiredness. That's not any fun at all. I hope you will have a great week.
