    Seizure Background
I did not start having any trouble with my Epilepsy until I was around 8 or 9. I was hit by a car at around 6 or 7 years old. Which doctors at that time believed to be the cause of why I started to have episodes. I started out with one type and they began to change as time went on. I am now being reviewed to have surgery to stop them some. I was up to 4 seizures an hour. It is something that we have found runs on my father's side of the family. And being that I was diagnosed back in the late 80's when they did not know much. They had no idea that I was actually born with the illness. It was not until 2009, that a neurologist explained to me that Epilepsy can lay dormant until it comes in contact with a trigger. I was so ignorant to my own illness.. Once I started becoming educated about how serious it was... I became an advocate with the Epilepsy Foundation in San Diego. I got involved with the H.O.P.E Mentoring Program, Talk About It, I started a YouTube Channel called, BraveMinds, and started a group called Epilepsy/Seizure Awareness, Mentoring, and Networking Community. I help everywhere that I can to push our cause and movement along.
