- Seizure Background
- I am a 43 year old female and was diagnosed with right temporal lobe epilepsy in May 2008. I have a lesion that has hemorrhaged at some point and has left scar tissue. I've been having intense deja vu episodes since the birth of my third child in 1999 but Drs convinced me that they were peri-menopausal hot flashes ( two family DRs and two OB/GYN's). It wasn't until I had one at the Dr's office that they realized they weren't and sent me to a neurologist. I'm pretty sure I had milder ones as a child. I think they started around age 10. I went on oral contraceptives at age 18 and was either on them pregnant or nursing until age her birth. So I believe that was prevented them all those years. After tracking the seizures and my cycle they are definitely related. I'm having a hard time finding much info on Catamenial Epilepsy. I am on my third medication and am scheduled for the WADA test in March. Not quite sure where this will all go. I've been looking for a support group, but being unable to drive I can't get to one. This looks like a great forum.

- 750 mg Trileptal. Don't skip meals and get enough sleep.
