    Seizure Background
My first seizure was when I was 16 yrs old. I was told that I was sitting in a chair watching a movie (I do remember what movie I was watching "Sleeping Beauty" and I remember what part of the movie it was at too "just before she pricked her finger" I think its kinda funny.) my eyes were wide open was gripping the chair foaming from the mouth breathing really weird. My mom called the ambulance and when they tried to move me I became very violent it took all 4 of them to hold me down to get me strapped in. They took me to the hospital in my county. They thought it was a drug overdose till they done a drug test and all they was Tylenol that my mom gave me for a headache. (really wish I could turn to someone and knock them out. A rumor was started in my school that my best friend at the time gave me a drug overdose and the only way this one chick could know this is that her uncle being on the ambulance team went home and said something to his family.) So the hospital had to transfer me to Rochester by ambulance. Rochester didn't know what it was at first. I was out for over 20 hrs having a seizure. My family was really concerned not know what was going on. They figured out that I had epilepsy when I had a second seizure. Rochester done an EEG while I was having a seizure but they said that since it was stress seizure and not a regular seizure that it didn't show on the EEG. So Rochester then turned around and told my mom that I was born with epilepsy and that I inherited it from someone in my family. My mom argued with the "smart" Dr and said no one in my family on all four sides (meaning my grandpa's relatives, my grandma's relatives on both sides of my family) ever had epilepsy. But the "smart" Dr insisted that I got it from someone in my family. They first had me on Depakote ER which wasn't working in my system. So they put me on Lamictal (Lampotrigine). Which really worked very well in my system. Then 2 yrs ago I came back home from being with someone that thought they were a DR and told me that I didn't need my medication. I was put on Tegretol XR which was working really well since it was cheaper than Lamictal. I then got insurance and was put on Lamictal again but was kept on Tegretol XR as well.
