- Seizure Background
- My birth mother abused herself with alcohol and illegal drugs before I was born! So I was born with many birth defects. I have no corpus callosus,severe vertigo that doesn't go away and more than 3/4 of my hippocampus is gone and continues to detirioate over time and causes short term memory loss and some long term memory loss too. I also have a anachroid cyst where they did temporal lobectomy for seizures plus my right side of brain is smaller than the left side causing left side of my body to be weaker and smaller than the right causing unevenness of body and inbalance,plus severe tone problems on right and left legs and blind in left eye and 50% blind in right. I was developemenatally delayed. At the age of 4yrs. I was diagnosed w/ epilepsy of three types SPE,T/C,and C/P cerebral palsy called spasticity,manic depression,bi-polar mania,fribromyalgia,Migraines/Tension headaches in 1980 they called me a "Miracle Child" to survive that long. I have had 12 E.M.U. admissions and post right temporal lobectomy under the care of Dr. Mark Agostini at Parkland Memorial Hospital of Dallas,TX Even with these disabilities I was adopted by new parents that took good care of especially my mom. I went to a regular school with special ed.help.And graduated high school ona regular diploma. Now the doctors in Dallas are cocerned I am having seizures from my occipital lobe. And living with chronic pain due to stenosis of the spine and c-spine caused from living with birth defects.
