- I am Bipolar and Lamictal is a medication used to treat it. I have been on it for about 3 years or maybe longer and it has done wonders for my disorder. I was born in West Virginia but I have lived in Ohio for a few years. I don't have an epileptic disorder,but I was researching about Lamictal causing false positive results on a drug screening and I happened to land on this site and seen where Chatter Box had concern of Lamictal causing her to fail a test. This happened to me today while trying to get into a Certified Nursing Program, I was so excited cuz I knew that I had this cut and dry....because I do not use drugs I only use medication for my disorder and sure enough, I failed the test. Tested positive for PCP, me not knowing anything about PCP I was just in shock.....I remember hearing that it was bad news but I didn't know anything in depth about it and now I am testing positive for it. What in the world.....is what I was thinking. I am a christian and I despise drug abuse and what it does to people, my first marriage failed because my husband was addicted to drugs and I don't want any part of it and now this. It was one of the most humiliating days of my life. Anyways I have to go back tomorrow and show the lady my perscriptions, or I will lose this oppurtunity that I have been waiting on for awhile now.
