    Seizure Background
Growing up, I kind of always had sleep paralysis. I didn't know what it was until I did some research. I never thought much of it. My mother, not knowing what to call it at the time either, just told me it was "nothing but the devil." Which it very well may be! lol

Sometime in the summer of 2010 I was told I spaced out during a conversation with a coworker. I went to get seen at the school health center, who directed me to a neurologist. He diagnosed me to have migraines with auras and prescribed me with a generic brand of Topomax* (spell check). During the time that I was on the medicine, my boyfriend told me I still occassionally spaced out, mumblin some sort of jibber jabber... I could not continue taking the Topomax* because I could not afford to keep seeing him, to have the refills prescribed.

February 4th, 2011 I had a seizure in my sleep. I awoke in an ambulance some time afterwards. The ER ran an MRI that came back normal and sent me home. When I got home and went back to sleep, I had another seizure. My boyfriend took me back to the hospital, where they kept me for a few days and ended up prescribing me with Dilantin (for my seizures) and Naproxen (for my headaches).
