- Seizure Background
- I was first diagnosed with JME, juvenile myoclonic epilepsy as most know, when i was 17. I am now 27, so that is ten years living with this. The first five years I was not very responsible, you know not taking my meds irregular sleep etc. etc. However, I have not had a seizure in 5 years and have been on Valproic Acid for most of the time. I also have a good friend who started having seizures while he was in basic training. He had full on grand mal seizures. So I have had experience on both sides of the coin, myself and someone close to me.
