- Seizure Background
- I was diagnosed with a seisure disorder at the age of 10. After going to a local "doctor" - raised my meds as I grew - I decided to call on the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF). Being from NE Ohio made that a slam dunk. They tried various meds, unsuccessfully, to eliminate my seizures - since they asked me to track them on a calendar I was amazed that I was having more than 130/year! Upon the non-success of the meds they put me on track for surgery to remove the focal point of my seizures (left frontal lobatomy) and successfully did so. I went from not driving and struggling to get passing grades in college to graduating from The University of Akron (B.S. of Accountancy). Now, 17 years after the surgery I am a successful accountant, husband and father of 5 beautiful children! Without the CCF I would have rotted away at my parents home...and that's all I am going to say about that!
