- Seizure Background
- I have had epilepsy since I was 7. Being 27 now, I am starting to doubt what my doctor told me when he said I would probably grow out of it! I have had my share of grand mals. Not fun. But I mostly have the focal facial seizures. If I stress to much or get tired its a pretty sure bet that I am going to pop up at 5am having one. Pregnancy and epilepsy did not work well for me at all! In my worst moments being 5 months pregnant, I was having 92 seizures in 1 hour. Needless to say I did not have the best neurologist. My 2nd pregnancy went MUCH better. I did however find out that my 4 year old (now 6) had epilepsy as well! We went through 1 year of meds and he seems to have grown out of it. Just recently, my allergies have been horrible! Now I come to find out after a few weeks of having nightly seizures that the benedryl that I have been taking could be the cause. Not to happy to find out that it is the benadryl that could be causing my sons repeating nose bleeds as well. I'm very happy that I found this site!
- Treatments
- I am currently on Vimpat, 150mg in the morning and 200mg at night. As well as Dilantin, 200 mg day and night
