- Seizure Background
- I was 5 when I had my first T/C seizure. After several doctors visits they established that I had EP.I started out on phenobarbitrol (sp?) and soon put on Dialantin I remember the yellow triangular shaped chewable tablets still to this day! They always tasted good to me! I was seizure free for 7 years. I started my menstration and had seizure, seizure seizure through till I was 18. Got a new neuro who put me on Tegretol 200 mg. No more seizures until I was in my 20's and then I started having stress induced pseudo seizures due to an abusive husband (my way out I guess) dealt with all that through counselors & hospitals and went seizure free for another 7 years!!! Still on Tegretol. Had one in 2001 and then again seizure free until NOW. MENOPAUSE! GRRRR! So, now my meds have changed Carbatrol 300 mg four times a day - Keppra 500 mg 1 1/2 2 x's a day and Klonopin 2x's a day. I also now have Diabetes type 2 which when my sugar levels go real low I have seizures then too but are not Epileptic.
