- Seizure Background
- My 18 yr old son has epilepsy. Diagnosed at 15. Had erythema multiforme at 12. High fever followed by seizure and hospitalized. Seizure in shower in Honduras at 14. Six months later at swim meet in pool.
Dx @ this time. Lamictal 400 mg qd. 2-4 seizures/year since. Tonic clonic. EEg's temp lobe complex partial with secondary generalized. No abnormal imaging PET MRI CAT 2 hour eeg normal 24 and 48 show left temporal focus. Evaluated at Mayo Jax in November. Considering surgery. Going to IU this fall. No warning to have seizure. Has been injured d/t falls. Plays tennis and 3.75 GPA. Very open about his E.
