- epilepsy for 28 years also have add/adhd. diagnosed when i was 10 have been on tegretol for most of that time tried topomax but that failed misserably. i try to hold down a full time job which consists of 40 -50 hours per week. i know that my add/adhd is related to my epilepsy but trying to tell that to my doctors is like telling them that pigs can fly. some may say i am lucky to work i will grant that but if i did not work i would have no medical benefits my tegrtol is not too badly priced but my medications for add/ adhd and lupus are well over $ 400.00 a month and my husband doesn't believe in sick days if and only if i am to sick to work then i must require hospitalization other than that i have to work
