    Seizure Background
This is a long story w/ lots of details I must leave out because it would take weeks to write. My son fell when he was 5 years old. As a result of the fall he had a seizure and he had a brain bleed. He was on Keppra preventatively for about 10 months and had no seizures. He went off the drug and was fine. Fast forward 7 1/2 years. Monday of this week he had a seizure. He went by ambulance to the hospital, we were later sent home after some testing and a half hour after we got home he had another more significant seizure. We went, again by ambulance, back to the hospital and he was admitted. He has had blood work, CT Scan, MRI, EEG, everything is normal. My son is special needs and I have noticed that in the past several months he has been becoming more lathargic (sp?). We have a history of Thyroid problems in my family. At my request, he has had his thyroid tested recently, and then again while he was in the hospital this week. The first test came back normal, but this week one of the tests had some abnormalities. My instincts kicked in and I thought, maybe the thyroid is causing the seizures and not the fall he took 7 1/2 years ago. It breaks my heart to see him on meds that further impede his ability to think and function. I'm just looking for help and answers.
