    Hi Randy
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this topic, I am all over the place at the moment!
If you would be happy to talk to me about your experiences with diagnosis in 1979, I would love to hear from you. I am still on the look out for an "elderly" person to talk to, someone who was diagnosed in the 30's or 40's, I think that would be a real eye opener, but if you yourself see a significant improvement in epilepsy services, it would be cool to get your perspective on things.
I hope all is well with you as we go into Spring? I'm still having probs with my complex partial's, but no auras since taking Trileptal (Oxcarbazepine) what a fantastic anti-epileptic drug that is, to rid me of those terrifying auras, only trouble is, I get no warning now before the complex partial's, I meet up with the chap this Friday, to discuss my training to be a counsellor, I just cannot wait and will let you know what happens, I'm glad you liked my photo and talk again soon.

Hey Guy! Thanks for thinking of me. I'm doing better, no more seizures yet but a few not so nice side effects from the dilantin. Balance, dizzy, muddled thinking, aphasia. Hope you're doing fine. Have you seen my new site? If you have a link on your board, you'll need to update the url
    h**p://www.vnsmessageboard.com

I'll need to have a link to your site posted here

    Hello There
Great to hear from you!!! No, I must admit, I was very upset about Ep's Unlmtd, and his unbelieveable negativity towards epilepsy, for a few days, and had a seizure at the top of the stairs! But, luckily Mark has been home, and he kept me calm, what is the point, I know us guys on CWE are positive about being PWE and will all stick together, also, I didn't have a security lock on my FB contacts, and he was going into them, and writing to my mates??!! I couldn't believe it!! As I'm pretty new to Facebook and social networking in general, I wasn't aware this could happen, but I have met some fantastic people over the last few years on here, and I wouldn't want him upsetting things for me!!
Anyway, keep in touch and I do hope that all is well with you in your world, and you are wobbly free? I've been ok, and my hand is healing well! Write again soon mate!!

    Lol

Seizure in April 2009, another in Aug. Started Lamictal XR in Sept 09 and still take it. So far so good I think. Maybe it has something to do with the "A" months..lol.

    Hi There

I hope that you are feeling better buy the time you read this, and are recovered from your fall, let me know huh?
Yes, I would be very pleased to hear from you and your experiences when first diagnosed, I am really trying to get hold of someone sort of my Dad's age, early 70,s, but also, would appreciate hearing from you too with your story, if you could include, how you were told, (were they sympathetic, was it kept hushed up?) How were you treated in education, and then of course, employment, and society in general, I would really appreciate it mate?
I never know whether you can exchange e.mail address's on here or not, I don't want to offend or upset anyone, it's just that it may be easier, do you know my e.mail lainey2010@live.com, I write to a lot of people from CWE so it must be ok, I just never know how much we are allowed to type onto CWE, give it a try anyway, I would really love to here from you.

    Hiya

I'm sorry for not replying sooner, I am so sorry to hear about your fall, hope you are feeling better?

I've been working on the book a lot just lately, and I'm up to typing up nearly 58,000 words, about half way there, and I'm adding things all the time, so you asked about when will it be out, well, I am hoping that it will be this year, I have been trying to type it all up during this crappy Winter, it's all written, it just needs tidying up a bit, and I also want to find an elderly person with epilepsy who is happy to talk to me about how they were treated by society back then, I just keep having all these ideas, it's hopefully going to be a good and more importantly, helpful read to someone newly diagnosed, I've tried to cover all soerts of aspects of living with the condition, and I'll get it published if it's the last thing I ever do!!!

    Lol

OH man!, You sure know how NOT to go down stairs! Those muscle sprains and tears take forever to get better. Take care Randy.

Doing better since my seizure. Most of the bruising has faded considerably, but my pinkie finger still reminds. I go for my EEG in the morning. First one in over 7 years.
In spite of the Lortab and Morphine I also take Aleve, if I don't I can't function. ((hugs))

    Good Morning

I don't get CWE sometimes, I've got three messages on here that I knew nothing about, so apologies for the delay in replying hun!
Hope all is well with you? My hand is on the mend, I've had some physio on it, and have lots more stretching to do to keep the fingers flexible, and the burnt skin stretching. It sure looks better than it did five weeks ago!
I've been really busy working on my book, and have typed up 3,000 words in the last week, and although it is an ongoing story I have a feeling that I could get it completed by the end of Summer 2010, I so so hope that I can get it published, it really is a "tongue in cheek" look at living with E, and I hope it will inspire others newly diagnosed, watch this space huh?
Anyway, let me know how it's going when you get the chance, and it's nearly Spring!! Hooray, this has got to have been one of the longest, coldest, poorest Winters ever!!!

    Love

    Lainey xx
