Hi Esther,
I'm feelin' good now and I have recovered from my fall (thanx for asking).
I was having balance issues at the time, probably from all the coffee I've been drinking lately combined with lack of sleep that was screwing with my meds.

Hi Esther, long time ~ no see
How r u doing these days. How's your seizure situation? Are they under control?
I've been fine but I'm now sitting at home recuperating from a fall down the stairs at home last Friday night. Very painful but nothing broken, lots of muscle damage but the hospital gave me some great pain meds.

Hi Esther,
Re: Coyotes, I think that pretty soon, Bettman will "throw in the towel" b/c he's finding out that no matter what roadblocks he puts up (paying off the judge), Balsille keeps skirting around them.
We WILL get the team but not in time for the upcomming season. One more year in Pheonix and then move the team to Hamilton. IMO
The huge pep rally planned for Friday afternoon could be very interesting.
I also think that the Leafs have a lot to do with this.
If that info. comes out or it T.O. gets another NHL team (as rumoured) then there will be a huge boycott of all Leaf games (as per a lot of ppl that I've talked to around here)

Hi Ranman,
Hope you are well.
It's too bad the Coyotes aren't moving to Hamilton... but I'm not giving up hope!
Sooner or later Bettman will give up!

Hi Randy,
Boy, I can sure relate to the loss of independence. It may sound 'petty' but sometimes I think the worst outcome from the Ep is losing my personal freedom. My husband does the driving and I hate depending on him. I love walking but he worries about me going on my own. Sometimes I think the stress of coping with epilepsy (loss of independence, job loss, relationships) triggers a lot of seizures.Talk about irony!
Take it easy and thanks for the advice on regular blood tests.

Hi Esther,
IMO ~ I think reular (montfly) blood tests are a good idea so the Dr. can monitor your anti-epileptic drugs level in your blood. Your body chemestry is constantly changing (IE: due to things like wether (amount you perspire, barometric pressure, stress, other illnesses,OTD drugs, drowsiness, sleep, vitamin supplements you may be taking, and the list goes on) so it will have an effect on the amount of anti-epileptic drugs in your system and also your Dr. can make sure you don't get too mch and go "toxic". As a result, sometimes he may have to adjust your doseage.

Hi Randy,
My neurologist used to ask me to take blood tests regularly when I started having seizures 10 years ago perhaps because he was testing different meds with me. I've been on Lamotrigine for years but he doesn't request regular blood tests. Do you think
regular blood tests are necessary?
Thanks,
Esther

I don't work any more (after 30 years with the Federal Govt.) as my employer gave me a package and put me on medical (early) retirement. I was 47 at the time.(2004) My meds were slowing me down, I could no longer do multi-tasking, slurred speach, unable to make quick decisions like I used to, had trouble concentrating, always tired from the meds, etc.
I'm now on medical pension and Disability from the Feds and a small Disability pension from Sun Life Assuance of Canada.

Hi Esther
Yes my Doctor makes me take monthly blood tests to check my dilantin level.
Weekly tests if I've recently had a UC flare up.
