OH man!, You sure know how NOT to go down stairs! Those muscle sprains and tears take forever to get better. Take care Randy.

Doing better since my seizure. Most of the bruising has faded considerably, but my pinkie finger still reminds. I go for my EEG in the morning. First one in over 7 years.
In spite of the Lortab and Morphine I also take Aleve, if I don't I can't function. ((hugs))

    Good Morning

I don't get CWE sometimes, I've got three messages on here that I knew nothing about, so apologies for the delay in replying hun!
Hope all is well with you? My hand is on the mend, I've had some physio on it, and have lots more stretching to do to keep the fingers flexible, and the burnt skin stretching. It sure looks better than it did five weeks ago!
I've been really busy working on my book, and have typed up 3,000 words in the last week, and although it is an ongoing story I have a feeling that I could get it completed by the end of Summer 2010, I so so hope that I can get it published, it really is a "tongue in cheek" look at living with E, and I hope it will inspire others newly diagnosed, watch this space huh?
Anyway, let me know how it's going when you get the chance, and it's nearly Spring!! Hooray, this has got to have been one of the longest, coldest, poorest Winters ever!!!

    Love

My granddaughter has been seizure free for 2 years now. We are looking for another 2 years of no seizures so we can maybe take her off her medication.

    Hi Randy
Good to hear from you my friend! How suitable that I picked up your letter today of all days. I have been studying to do a voluntary job which I started today, I lasted about 45 mins and that was it, I would have been working for what we have here called The Citizens Advice Bureau, and would have been giving free and impartial advice to people with problems, who'd have thought, that after ten minutes of starting, I would have been one of their bloody clients, and sitting in the chair being given advice. I had tried to learn and take it all in, there was a hell of a lot to learn, and with me being the perfectionist that I am, I expected to remember the lot, and utilise it as soon as I sat in the chair this morning, well, the phone rang, and I just went blank, totally and utterly blank, burst into tears, and disappeared into the toilets in a mass of tissue and tears!!
    Still smiling!!

    Cheers

    Hi Randy

Long time no hear huh? Hope all is well with you and your wobblies are few? I'm still having the odd Simple Partial, but nothing else, they are just so scary!!! I'm ok if I have a glass of red wine afterwards, but I still have no memory of them, and no warning, it's all so different since this second surgery.
I am reducing my Keppra which is a good thing and increasing my Trileptal which is just for simple partial's so hopefully I'll be a lot better soon, and my wobblers will be reduced.
Drop me a line and let me know how you are when you get a chance?

    lol

Hello, I have been away for sometime.... I moved with my two girls from Minnesota to New York and we have worked hard at getting adjusted to life here in the Big Apple.
Life is much better for all 3 of us and we look forward to a happier life.....
I HOPE LIFE IS BEING KIND YOU! I look forward to sharing and laughing as I will be around much more now that life is settling some.... ~Ryn

they actually have me all the way off of Trileptal. Im on Vimpat which makes me feel like a "real person". but they have put me on Depakote which back tracked that a bite. they are now trying to get me off of the Dilantin. I hope when this is all over I feel better and aren't seizing. I had a really ugly one last night - not fun.

    Hi Hon

Hope all is well with you? I've been ok, only a few absences, no real brain blowouts!!! I can honestly say that the surgery has so been worth while, I just want to get behind the wheel of a car again one day, and hopefully one of these days, find that ever elusive ideal job!! I read today in a national paper, that we are currently in the grip of the worst recession in the UK, since the 1930's for Chrissakes, every job I go for, I am competing with 250-300 other people, all I can do, is keep trying, and keep smiling!! I am no good at being miserable, and if I am, that's when Laine's brains play up, I guess you know what I mean? Stress is no good with epilepsy is it?

Anyway, I have to go and put my lippy on as I'm going out tonight, hope you are ok, and that I hear from you again soon.

    Cheers

I just got the results of a 72 hour EEG after going off dilantin for 32 years! I am now taking the generic for keppra and so far so good. i still have abnormal readings because of my brain surgery but the abnormal activity is being controlled by the generic keppra and not causing any breakthrough seizures. I have been on every medication made to treat or control seizures. Until now the side effects of dilantin were better than having seizures but disruptive to my growth. I am hoping from here on out I can learn easier and regain my potential for growth now that the poisoning effects of dilantin are out of my system. Wish me luck!!! Don't give up on yourself ever!!!!!
