    Seizure Background
I am 44 years old. I was born with a rare brain condition called septo optic displaysia - the septum in my brain is missing, I have fluid on my brain and my optic nerve is not completely formed. I have epilepsy as a result of this condition. I had my first seizure at 17 and it has been a battle ever since. I have seizures almost every day - mostly partial complex but I do have tonic clonic as well. I also have atonic seizures or "drop attacks" as they have been termed. I have been known to have 100- 120 seizures in a day and it is always the sheer volume of seizures with me that is shocking. I have no warning before a seizure and will jst fall face first of the floor in a matter of seconds. I use a wheelchair full time due to this fact and never stand or walk alone - we just never know when the next one may come. I have been on every seizure medicine there is - some more than once - nothing seems to work that well for me. Every day is a challenge but I trust my God in all things and he carries me through every storm. I am blessed beyond measure! I also have an incredible husband and son that take good care of me. Glory to God!
    Treatments
Right now I am taking Felbotol and Tegretol. I have also had a VNS for 15 years. It did not help in the least so it is turned off.
    Interests
I love to read, scrapbook and spend time with my wonderful family.
