- Seizure Background
- age 45, dx 02/09 with left temporal lobe epilepsy. Currently on lamictal, noticeable decrease in partials. Grandson has (had) infantile spasms. ACTH current given, spasms no longer showing, very little seizure activity, still very low muscle tone. Weaning to begin 06/10. Genetic connection being studied by 2 teams of geneticists. First DD died at age 6 after infantile spasms, degenerative nerve & muscle disorder (particular unknown), severe physical, neurological, and intellectual handicaps. 2nd DD undergoing testing after abnormal EEG and MRI.
I also have polyneuropathy, fibromyalgia and only God knows what else. Currently also seeing a rheumatologist. - Treatments
- trileptal 300 mg twice a day, first AED. DC'd 02/10. Lamictal started 04/10, some improvement.
