You might have seen improvement in her health following the surgery due to the antibiotics she was given. It kills all bad and good bacteria. You might consider pro-biotics for gut health. I like Natren Healthy Trinity. I don't know about children's doses. I would call the company. It can't hurt to use this for about a year, keeping notes on it, as you heal her gut. Might be an added reason for the tonsils to get inflamed.

I can only imagine the challenge that you have encountered with family. My soon to be ex did the same with my daughter. Yes she can have rice, thought I would try to limit grains for a while if you can. Especially the refined processed ones. Make it a game, and let her keep track of the limited amount you have decided upon. I can't tell you what that would be. A single slice of bread each day. One pasta dish a week. ...?

Tell the family to butt out. Nutrition over "diet" has never been known to be harmful. More and more studies are proving the truth to it. If they can't help themselves from going behind your back, then perhaps you need to take a break from them. You would never allow them to give her drugs, and if you are finding the Standard American Diet to be making her sick, this is exactly what they are doing. Find an alternative to her medicine too.

Hello robin, I have a 7 year old daughter Angela. She has "jeavons syndrome" which is idiopathic epilepsy that consists of absence seizures and eyelid myoclonia. None of the medication works. She's not a candidate for surgery. We've tried a lot of diets but it seems almost impossible bc family members think I'm a quack and think I'm cruel for putting her on a diet. So that means they sneak her things. I gave up since we never were truly on the diet because of the things she would get. A weird thing happened after she had her tonsils removed when she was 3 her seizures stopped completely for 3 months. She only ate minimal for 2 weeks when they came back I started to wonder what was really causing her seizures. I started the gard diet 3 days ago. I don't know if I'm doing it 100 % correctly. For cereal I give her gf rice chex. I have a feeling she shouldn't have that . Can she have rice? I also think her medicine has corn syrup or aspartame in it. Any advice would b appreciated. Thank u

I did that right brain vs left brain test you posted in 2007. Oh wow! At first I didn't understand but when I stared at her feet and then back up, it changed! It scared me, haha! So I guess I'm both?

All is fairly well here. Unusually warm winter. We had a few cold snaps, but I only used the snowblower once. Just back from a birthday party for my uncle. 90 years old and still works outside with his sons and has a mind better than mine. Great example of a life well lived.
