- Seizure Background
- started having petit mal seizures back when i was about 14, and would have anywhere from 10-18 a day. Later that summer, my first grand mal occured while i was sleeping. We switched doctors (mainly because mine retired lol) and she put me on trileptal and it started working amazing. i was seizure free for over 3 years. but my stupid self figured, "oh...i'm seizure free, i dont need the medication anymore!" so i just stopped taking it. which turned to be rather bad. i started having a few petit mal's every few days or so, and then it'd frequent to once a day. (this was even after i started taking my meds again). in sept. '10 i had another grand mal, then another in november, and just another one this past weekend. but my doctor has me on trileptal and now keppra both and the combination is working amazing. the one this past weekend was because I ran out of meds before i could get them refilled. other than that, i haven't had any small ones since i started both medications. i'm constantly praying every day that this will go away. and i'm always trying to find some different way to do it. if ANYBODY has ANY tips, pointers, insight, etc., please contact me!
