- Seizure Background
- I'm a marine war vet of desert storm. 7 to 9 months after i was honorably discharged, simple partial seizures started. Then in a fairly short time complex partial started. In 1993 I had the right temporal lobectomy. That reduced my seizure amount from over 100 per month to 8 to 12 per month.
Since I was still having seizures they checked, and I was also having them from the left temporal lobe. So I got the VNS. For 11 years that didn't do a damn thing for me. Then in Dec. of 2006 I entered the research study for the RNS, and that is helping me moderately well. - Treatments
